Survival (Spain)

The female sighed as she laid there.

Carrie rubbed at her paw with a muzzle before sitting up.

Goldie was laying by the entrance of her den, her ears constantly flicking and she stayed quiet.

When morning dawned, Carrie stirred with the sun. She yawned, blinking open her eyes.

Goldie dozed off shortly after.

Carrie drifted off into sleep.

Goldie stayed awake, listening for any danger, hoping the dog catchers wouldn't come around.

She blinked at the other dog and sighed, resting her head on her paws and closing her eyes.

Goldie was turned away from her, curled up and keeping her ears back.

Carrie soon finished her food and pushed the empty bag away.

She glanced to her and rolled her eyes before limping back toward her bed, sitting down.

She watched her movements, munching on the dog food.

She watched and gave a soft sigh, "They'll be hanging around the area, I saw them following me" She said as she rolled up, standing and limping toward the only way in and out of the box car, she poked her head out and looked around to see how safe it was.

She pulled the bag to herself and ripped it open with her teeth, digging into it.

"Eat up, who knows when I can go find more" She sighed, trying to get comfortable.

She frowned, placing her head back on her paws.

"Well you gotta open your eyes then, because not everyone wants something in return" She said, laying back and sighing.

“But...no one just helps someone without expecting something in return,” she said, still sounding confused.

"We're both dogs aren't we?" She questioned, "Dogs gotta stick together when were stuck like this" She shrugged, still trying to get the rope off.

The young dog looked bewildered. “But you don’t know me.”

"Well you had to eat somehow" She said, licking at her sore leg and wincing.

Carrie frowned. “Why would you do that?”

"It happens when you go into a stupid human store" She huffed, trying to get the rope from around her neck, "And the stupid dog catcher nearly gets you" She sighed.

Carrie startled awake from her doze when the bag of dog food landed in front of her nose, staring at it with confusion for a few moments before she woke up more fully. She looked to Goldie and her eyes widened when she saw her limp. “You’re hurt!”

The collie was gone for a while, coming back limping and with a rope around her neck, she tossed a small bag a dog food toward the other before she moved to her bed, keeping her back right leg up as she limped.
