Private with Fire

She looked down at them, eyes filled with tears. "Lightningkit and Foxkit."

"Of course," he replied gently, using his paw to rub his mate's shoulder in compassion. "You choose their names. They are your sons."

She flinched, whimpering quietly as she nosed the pelts of her stillborn sons. "Can't-can't we name them too?" She pleaded desperately.

He nodded, and forced out a purr. "I love it. It's beautiful." He stared at his living daughter, grinning warmly despite the two stillborn kits. "I'll go bury them, alright?" he whispered.

Pineleaf whimpered, wrapping her tail around her one living kit. "N-Nightkit. Let's name her Nightkit."

"Please don't cry," he begged, licking at her face as he felt his own tears welling up. "You have to take care of our last surviving kit. What should we name him? Please, you have to focus on him."

Agony tore at Pineleaf, sharper than an eagle's talons, and she drew all three kits to her, crying.

Black quickly began licking and massaging the kit, bringing it into life so he could rest it on her flank. "Pineleaf....he's...he's the only one."

Biting down on her tongue so hard she drew blood, she finally gave birth to the third and last kit, a small black she-kit. At first glance she appeared stillborn as well, but when you took a closer look she was not.

He shook his head, shocked. He began to dread the worst: what if every kit was stillborn? Gingerly, he put his dead son next to his brother, and waiting for the last kit. "That's it, you got it," he encouraged.

She convulsed, giving birth to another stillborn tom. This time one that looked like her.

He gripped the kit and licked it, but he could tell already that it had been born without a breath in it. He glanced at his mate, but couldn't bring himself to tell her. Yet. "That's it," he whispered, "There are more. Keep pushing." With great sorrow, he put the kit in the curve of her belly anyway.

She barely heard him, her back arching as she cried out loudly in pain. Pushing, the first kit, a large black tom-kit with white paws, was born. (Stillborn)

"Pineleaf, I know it hurts. But you have to push." He crouched beside the she-cat, watching her face and then belly with terror in his eyes. He could tell the first kit was almost here.

Pineleaf lay on her side on her nest in the nursery, her claws dug into the moss and her jaw clenched as she groaned in pain, a contraction rippling through her.

(ya, let's do it!)

Black padded back and forth, watching his mate intently. She was entering labor, and he felt terror for her and his kits. What if something bad happened? "Pineleaf, are you alright?"

(bump for me)

(I'm on winter holidays now too So...Hm...Pineleaf starts having the kits, two are stillborn and one is weak? Then we skip a couple moons with a fiercely overprotective Pineleaf and Blackstar. The kit sneaks to the border and gets captured by a new, somewhat evil Clan and a war starts. Sound good?)

She munched on the rabbit, tail flicking

He sat down right beside her, looking down at her form and admiring her body

She shook her head, rolling onto her back.

He glanced at her. "Well, do you have anything to say to that?" he teased her.

She blinked at him, ears flicking.
