Private with Fire

The leader snarled, waving his paw for his warriors to move the kit to a protected den. "You do not order me, kit. Their blood will be on your paws." He grinned sadistically, unsheathing his claws as he pictures his ex-mate running into the camp. Who should he kill first? Her? Or her mate? He yelled after the kit. "Which one would you prefer to see die first?"

The five moon old kit shrank back, her father's green eyes shimmering with fear and tears. "No! Don't hurt them!" she wailed, huddling in a ball on the ground. "I'm sorry for exploring in your territory! I won't do it again! Just don't hurt them!" She sobbed, a trembling ball of black fur with one red paw.

He laughed, letting go of her ear and swiping her away. "Dumb kit. You know what's going to happen, right? Your precious parents will come right here in my camp...and I'll have no choice but to kill them, right in front of you." He let out a malicious grin, his white teeth showing.

Nightkit cried out in pain, swiping at him with her soft kit paws. "Stop it! That hurts!" She wailed, her green eyes shimmering with tears. I want Pineleaf and Blackstar! Mommy, Daddy, where are you? I'm sorry!

Stormstar shook his head. "Now, now, you know exploring another clan's territory is forbidden. You shall be punished." He perked his ears as a thought came to him. He knew Blackstar would be bringing his clan to rescue his daughter. It was just a matter of when. Grunting in distaste, he leaned down and grabbed the kit's ear, pulling on it roughly with his teeth.

Pineleaf raced alongside her mate, eyes cold. If you've harmed her, Stormstar....

Nightkit stared up at the grey tom with wide eyes, trembling with fear. "I-I was just exploring," she whimpered, her ears flattening.

Blackstar nodded back, knowing his mate would want to come. He waved her to run by his side before turning and pelting out of camp, waving his tail as he heard the immense pounding of paws behind him. War was coming.

Meanwhile, at Beechclan's camp, the newly named Stormstar stalked out of the den, a smirk on his face as he approached his ex-mate's daughter. Stopping in front of her, he stared down at her small form. "What is this?" he rumbled smugly. "Why are you on my territory, little kitten?"

(He's your cat :3 Im still trying to decide what the Clan will be doing with Nightkit.... Cuz she's too young to use as a slave)

Pineleaf gave her mate a firm nod, her expression grim. I'm coming and I'd like to see someone try to stop me. Nothing will prevent me from rescuing my daughter.

Blackstar nodded and lifted his head. Storming out of the den, he threw his head back and yowled to the clan to gather. He launched into what had happened, and what he was doing, by ending his speech with: "we're going to war. No prisoners, no mercy. Just get my kit back." He saw mixed emotions within the crowd, but he knew they'd obey. Turning to his mate, he tilted his head questioningly, asking if she wanted to come.

Pineleaf stepped forward and touched her nose to Blackstar's ear. "You're the leader. You can't keep an eye on her at all times," she murmured, her green eyes sad but determined. "We will get her back, or die trying."

Meanwhile, at the BeechClan camp, the patrol leader, Oakstripe, had instructed the apprentice, Smokepaw, to keep Nightkit in the middle of camp while he went to speak with the leader.

He nodded, grateful for his mate's support. But before he went to rally the clan, he turned to her with a sorrowful gaze. "I'm sorry, I should've been watching her, but..." he hung his head in shame.

"I'm going with you," Pineleaf hissed, her narrowed eyes and furious tone leaving no room for argument. How dare BeechClan steal her daughter! If they had harmed even one hair on her pelt.....

He didn't bother waiting for his escorts, his eyes narrowing into pure fury. Spinning around, he sprinted back over the border and to his camp. He already knew what he was going to do, but at what cost? He ran into camp and to the nursery, shoving his head in to tell his mate what had just occurred. When he finished, he ended it with: "We're going to invade their camp, and kill as many as we can."

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," the tom said, waving his tail dismissively. "Rockfang, Stormclaw, escort this tom back to the border."

He felt his eyes water, knowing he couldn't do anything by himself. He felt utterly helpless. "F-fine! But promise me you won't hurt her."

The leader, a large, muscular, brown tabby, got in front of Blackstar and sneered at him. "I think not. This kit is ours now. And you better get out before we attack."

He saw the apprentice snatch his daughter up, and he yowled in fury. "Put her down! I have to take her home to her mother." He padded over, knowing he couldn't take on 6 enemies at once. It wouldn't save his kit.

Nightkit stared out of the bush at the six cats, eyes wide. 

The leader of the patrol merely gave Blackstar a disdainful glance, sniffing the air before directing an apprentice to the bush Nightkit was in. 

The apprentice darted over to the bush, snatching up Nightkit.

He stopped, horrified. But surely they wouldn't harm kits? He hailed the warriors over, making them aware of his presence. "I'm looking for a lost kitten!" he called, still not able to see Nightkit.

The strong scent of BeechClan suddenly swept over both Blackstar and Nightkit. There must have been at least five.

Blackstar yowled again, slowing down. Where was she?

Nightkit poked at the beetle she'd been following, watching it curiously. What was the purpose of its life?
