The Stolen Troop

Vera nuzzled her mate softly, holding Chaka to her chest as she leaned against her mate, tensing after a few minutes when she heard the gates and tge practical stampede of the troop rushing out of the tunnels.

Taka reached out to her as he started to eat, the large male sitting back.

Navera turned as she heard her mate, after walking around she returned to him and she rubbed against him softly.

Taka stood and walked over to the food once she had departed, eager to give her some space with Chaka.

The female walked around slowly, stretching her arm out to test the ground ahead of her, Chaka looking around as he clung onto his mother's back.

Taka yawned but continued to lay on his stomach watching his mate.

The female was a short distance off, still within sight, as she was picking at some food that was left, the infant clinging onto her back, he hadn't been strong enough before to cling onto her like most newborns could, but he seemed to be getting his strength.

Taka awoke some hours later with a yawn, rolling onto his stomach and looking around for his mate and child.

She stroked her mate's hand softly, letting him know she was still there while he was sleeping.

Taka nodded gingerly, before laying behind his mate with a loud yawn, one of his hands, resting on her lap.

"Get some sleep Taka... We'll be okay" She said softly and nuzzled the male.

Taka continued to groom her lovingly, casting his eyes about the enclosure tiredly.

She leaned back against her mate as she fed their infant, the blind female gently stroking the infant.

Taka smiled at the two of them, moving to sit behind his mate, he began grooming her.

She sat up after a few minutes, taking Chaka and feeding him as he was getting fussy, she let him latch onto her nipple and he began nursing greedily.

Taka reached his hand out towards Chaka, enjoying the feeling of having a child to teach.

The blind female stayed cuddled up to her mate, stroking their baby gently.

Taka held his mate closely while watching Chaka, he hadn’t expected to have a child until much later in life, but he’d be lying if he said he wasn’t completely content with how things had ended up.

She smiled and nuzzled close to her mate, letting out a content breath.

Taka smiled at her words, squeezing her gently, "so am i"

"I'm glad I left with you" She cooed quietly

Taka pulled her close, making sure that Chaka wasn't between them.

She held onto her mate's hand softly and she cuddled close to the large male.

Taka smiled and reached out to touch his mates hand, while still watching Chaka.

"I feel he will be" She said softly.
