A Cat's Only Payment [Stormwind]

The cats were placed inside a large box inside the monster, they were covered and left in the dark box as the monster woke when the twolegs got inside, Lanx took both kits and let them nurse, both nursing like they hadn't in days.

Unlike the typical harebrained warrior cat, Lark knew monsters were harmless unless you got under their feet while they were awake, and so remained calm as he was placed inside the strange creature.

The she-cat looked down to her mate and nodded, letting him know he was doing good, after a minute or two of the twolegs talking, the older one gently picked up the tom as well, heading toward a momster parked on the side of the thunderpath.

Staring up at the older upwalker with wide eyes, he let out a gentle mew, rubbing himself against its legs and purring softly, doing his best to act like the spoiled housecats that he'd seen frequently with his girls.

A much older twoleg walked over and crouched near them, "Act cute, these are one of the ones we want" She mewed to him, purring loudly and rubbing herself against the older twoleg, letting out a soft mew as she was picked up and she held the kit tighter so she wouldn't drop it.

Lark regarded the kit carefully, watching with narrowed eyes, but he made no attempt to run, and his claws remained sheathed. He did, however, grip his own kit tightly.

"No... I don't think so..." She mewed, looking around and trying to figure out what to do, suddenly, a small twoleg saw the cats and ran over, "Don't get hostile, its a twoleg kit, if we get hostile they won't take us" She murmured to her mate while the small twoleg was petting her head.

"Do we need to cross?" Lark mewed, more than a little nervous at the prospect as the kit dangled innocently by its scruff.

Her ears flicked and she sniffed the air before walking between two buildings, her tail lashing and she squeezed between bars of a fence, she jumped once she got near the road and cars zipped by.

The tom nodded, nuzzling his mate softly before continuing to follow her paw steps carefully.

"Stay quiet around here, some dogs are friendly to cats, but if they don't know its a cat, they'll attack" She mewed softly as she slid out of the bushes.

Lark quickly looked around them, then followed, carefully squeezing through the wall.

Once at the twoleg place, the she-cat moved slower, heading for a wall of bushes.

Lark followed along unquestioningly, knowing that despite his years she'd know the twolegplace far better. He couldn't help but wonder what living with a upwalker would be like, considering he never had. The only other living thing he'd ever depended on was Blu, and that was because, like Scout, the horny bastard had forked over a small fortune for him.

She chuckled and gave a nod, continuing on, the small kit dangling in her jaws.

Shaking his head, he turned back around and nudged Lanx onwards, taking some measure of joy from rubbing his face in her thick, long fur.

She stopped and glanced back when she noticed he had stopped.

Lark looked back at his old home one last time. He'd have to return with some frequency to keep running his business, he supposed, but he might still miss the homely feeling it had provided for most of his life.

She nodded and started padding out of their home, heading toward the twoleg place, her tail lashing.

"You lead." Lark mewed simply, unwilling to speak much to make extra sure he had a solid grip on his kitten.

Blu purred and curled with his mate, dozing off.

Her tail lashed and she started to walk out of their den, purring softly.

Lark took another, purring excitedly.

"Then lets sleep" He chuckled softly and groomed his mate.

She chuckled and got up, stretching and grasping the scruff of a kit.

Scout purred softly as he pressed even closer to Blu, lovingly rubbing his mate's chest and belly with his paws. "Tired…" he huffed softly, nuzzling into the back of the other tom's neck fur.

"Well, what's the hold up then?" Lark's eyes gleamed at the prospect of raising their kits somewhere better than here.

"Well when you get fixed, you normally cant" He shrugged.

"I think I do, yeah" She mewed softly, grooming her paw softly.
