Dim Light (Stormwind)

(We could just skip it. I don’t know what we could have happen on the journey, because we want them all to get to Loveclan unharmed for what’s gonna happen there. :3 )

Graycloud and Rainstorm both followed.

(Once they leave the territory will we still be posting their journey here or will we be skipping it and just having them come to LoveClan?)

Amber glanced around the spot where she had run into the first patrol she encountered, closing her eyes to ensure she was going the right direction. After reciting the way to herself a few times, she dipped her head and silently gestured for the others to follow her, charting a course well out of the territory.

Graycloud followed after Amber and Rainstorm walked by her (GC’s) side but slightly behind.

Amber jumped when she was touched, her eyes wide. “Yeah,” She mewed, walking to the entrance to camp. “This way.” She set out into the territory, going towards where she had met the clan cats for the first time.

Puddlepaw followed closely behind the three warriors.

Once they were all done eating and gathered, Graycloud led them out of the camp, though stopped before they got too far. She turned to Amber. “You need to lead us, now.”

Amber felt bad leaving her prey half finished, but she simply wasn’t hungry enough to consider polishing off her mouse. The butterflies in her stomach ensured that. When she was finished, she padded over to Graycloud, sat down, and tried to relax, but her tail lashed and the brown tabby shuffled her paws constantly.

Puddlepaw eventually finished scarfing his prey down, then returned to his nest to eat his traveling herbs. He’d saved those for after the prey in hopes that eating his thrush first would make his bundle of traveling herbs easier to swallow.

Graycloud gulped down a mouse while Rainstorm sulkily ate his vole. Once the tabby she-cat was done eating, she waited patiently for the others to finish.

Amber had already been awake. In truth, the She-Cat felt as though she had only gotten a wink of sleep, having spent the night reciting the path back to Loveclan in her head over and over again. The last thing she wanted to do as she tried to join Dimclan’s ranks was to get their patrol lost. The She-Cat nibbled on a mouse, her nerves making her not particularly hungry.

Puddlepaw, on the other hand, hungrily tore into a thrush, looking well rested.

Graycloud was up with the sun, making her way through the camp to prod awake each of her patrolmates before heading to the fresh-kill pile to get something to eat before they left.

Rainstorm grudgingly followed Graycloud over to the food, picking up a vole from it.

Riverstar soon joined Swiftstream, curling his body tightly around hers, sharing his warmth with the she-cat and settling in to sleep.

When the mouse was finished, leaving only bones and a few scraps of fur, Swiftstream cleaned her muzzle and paws and curled up in their nest.

Riverstar continued to share the mouse with her in this way, happy that the earlier incident between them was essentially forgotten now.

Swiftstream took her own bite of the mouse, chewing and swallowing.

Riverstar nodded, taking a bite and pulling back as he chewed it so that Swiftstream could share with him.

Swiftstream pulled back after a few moments. “Mouse?”

Riverstar nodded. “I just have to hope everything goes well now.” He turned his head and gave Swiftstream’s shoulder a few tired licks.

Swiftstream sighed, resting her muzzle in between his ears. “Well, you’ve done it. You can’t back down now.”

Riverstar nodded. “I’m not sure I made the right decision on the leader, either.” Despite Rainstorm’s odd behavior recently, The cream colored tom couldn’t shake the nagging thought that he would have made the best choice to lead the patrol. Graycloud was a promising young warrior, Sure, but had little experience leading.

Swiftstream drew her tongue over his ear. “You know you can’t, Riverstar.”

“The patrol for Loveclan hasn’t even left and I already worry for their safety,” Riverstar signed in reply, leaning against Swiftstream heavily. “I wish I could go with them, to make sure they were safe myself.”

Swiftstream frowned slightly at his expression. “What’s wrong?”

Riverstar purred softly when Swiftstream forgave him with a touch of her nose, leaning slightly into the affectionate contact as he stared towards the den entrance. Something was clearly weighing on his mind.

Swiftstream gently touched her nose to his cheek. “I know you will.”

Riverstar fixed his dark blue gaze on her, his guilt clear in his eyes. “I’m sorry, Swiftstream. I’ll pay more attention next time.”
