Her Almost Romeo, His Almost Juliet [Ash]

She nuzzled him and purred loudly, trying to comfort him softly, "Not as bad as the first time my father took me out" She said, shivering at the memory, she had nearly been sat on by a baby mammoth in her first hunting experience.

Trey flinched at the mention of his father, but answered as if he hadn't, with a light chuckle, "i scared the entire herd away" he told her, licking at her ears.

She leaned into his touch and purred, grooming him in return, her tail lashing softly, "I bet you were a nightmare for your father" She licked his face softly.

Trey smiled at her words, "sounds like a nightmare" he chuckled, jumping up when she got off him, in favour of climbing on top of her, crouching over her protectively and beginning to groom her neck.

"They're getting big" She cooed as she watched their cubs wrestling ahead of them, "We'll be able to take them hunting soon" She purred, moving off her mate and she laid beside him.

Trey was about to thank his mate for saving him until she took the cub's place. However, he chuckled at her and growled playfully, his tail lashing.

Shir chuckled and chased the cubs off her mate, only to sit on his back herself, purring and licking his nose.

Trey laid his head down grumpily as the Cubs clawed at his fur and bit playfully at his ears, putting up with it for quite a while before growling his irritation.

Shir purred and looked up toward her mate as she rubbed back against him, rising up as she had spotted the cubs before he had, purring and laughing as she watched them, licking her mate's face softly.

Trey awoke some hours later and while initially waking alone in the cave had startled him, he heard (and smelt) his mate and cubs outside and joined them quickly. Greeting his mate by rubbing along her and licking her chin before laying down beside her. Trey soon found this decision to be a bad one, in that when he did, the cubs ran over to him, biting at his fur and attempting to climb.

Shir purred as she watched her family, her ears flicking and she gave a soft yawn, as the sun was rising, she let her mate sleep while she woke the cubs and ate with them, she took the cubs outside to play and leave Trey to sleep, the saberess purring loudly.

Trey moved seemingly mid-slumber, to be closer to his mate, but otherwise slept peacefully for quite some time.

She purred and nuzzled him softly, licking his face before leaving him be, laying her head on her paws, watching their sleeping cubs.

Trey purred back, he considered her suggestion for a moment, while his instincts told him that should another stray find them, he should be awake, he reasoned that he'd be woken at the first sign of trouble. So he laid his head down near her and allowed his eyes to lull shut.

"You sleep Trey, I'll stay up" She said softly and she groomed him, fussing over him softly.

Once Trey had eaten his fill, he dragged the plentiful carcass over to her and the cubs, yawning tiredly and laying down next to her afterwards.

The saberess purred as she watched her mate and their cubs curled up in a pile sleeping, Shir kneaded their nested area softly as she purred.

Trey nodded, licking her once before standing, stretching out and lashing his tail. Trey moved to the side of the cage and sniffed at the carcass, laying down next to it, ripping a few pieces of and eating them slowly.

"I'm okay... I'll just rest my head" She purred and nuzzled him softly, laying her headbon her paws, letting out a long breath.

Trey smiled, resting his head on her back protectively, "get some sleep" he assured, prepared to stay awake and watch her and the cubs.

She purred and nuzzled him, "Well yes, there are benefits" She cooed, licking his head softly.

"Don't be" he answered easily, before giving a soft teasing smile, "i signed on to deal with all your crazy when i asked you to run away with me" he told her with a chuckle, "it came with its benifits though" he told her, nuzzling into her stomach again.

Shir shivered lightly as she felt his touch, letting out quiet purrs, nuzzling his cheek with hers, "Sorry to worry you" She murmured.

Trey moved to lay next to her, licking at her side gently trying to be comforting, Trey rolled onto his side, pressing his paws into her stomach, massaging it softly.

"I-I'm fine... I don't remember having a nightmare.." She said quietly, leaning into her mate's touch, her ears drooped lightly.
