Her Almost Romeo, His Almost Juliet [Ash]

Trey licked at her neck and muzzle further, even after she'd woken up, wanting to settle her down. "You had a nightmare" he explained, nibbling at her neck before crouching on top of her gently, "are you okay?"

The saberess opened her eyes and looked around, a fearful look in her eyes, "Trey...? What happened?" She asked quietly, her ears back.

Trey put himself between her and the cubs, before eventually standing over her protectively and licking at her neck and face to lull her gently from her sleep without scaring her, or allowing her to harm the cubs - even just by accident.

Shir flinched as she felt someone touch her, not realizing it was her mate and she gave a cry in her sleep, kicking out more, even startling the cubs awake.

Trey woke as she started to stir and fuss in her sleep. Yawning he stood and nuzzled her trying to wake her up.

Shir took a while to fall asleep before she finally did, but she wasn't in a peaceful sleep for long, kicking out and whining loudly as she began to have a nightmare.

Trey allowed himself to fall asleep, somewhat relaxed now that the rogue hadn't made a second appearance and it seemed, for now, his mate and himself were in a good place.

Shir laid her head over his and she gave a yawn.

Trey nuzzled her again, before laying his head down, and pulling her close.

Shir purred softly as she groomed her mate, lashing her tail softly and feeling the cubs curling up at her belly to sleep.

Trey nuzzled her, purring in response to her grooming, even stretching out to allow her further access. Stretching his paws out he started to gently knead her body.

Shir purred a bit louder, and turned to groom her mate, letting out a soft breath.

Trey chuffed his agreement, draping a paw over her protectively, nuzzling her.

She slowly relaxed and she softly nuzzled her mate, letting out a breath, "Once we know he's gone.. We can start going hunting together again" She murmured softly.

Trey nuzzled her, laying down close to her, resting his head on her lovingly.

Shir still flinched slightly as she felt him nuzzling her, she gave a breath and hesitantly leaned into his touch, her ears drooped, "I don't know why I got so upset.. Maybe I was just tired of being cooped up with the cubs" She sighed, hanging her head.

Trey frowned, "I lost my temper Shir...but i've never once hurt you" he pointed out, moving back over to her. Sighing, "I wasn't prepared to let you stay here injured with the cubs with a rogue around." He told her, "I felt out of control" he finished, nuzzling her softly seeking forgiveness.

Shir stayed where she was, continuing to tremble, starting to purr when Koba cuddled up to her again, she softly groomed the cub, letting out a soft breath, she rolled over and she looked to her mate, a hesitant nervous look crossing her face, "I know we were upset... But you scared me Trey..." She spoke quietly, clearly still fearful.

Trey frowned when Shir jerked from his touch and let out a whimper, the large saber, sighing as he laid down a little way, away instead of next to his mate. "I'm sorry" he told her, for now, intent on giving her space.

Shir gave quiet purrs as Koba had cuddled up to her, Koba seemed to have the biggest connection to Shir, clearly a mama's boy, Koba seemed to be trying to comfort his mother, Shir flinched and trembled as she felt her mate's touch, pinning her ears and giving a soft whimper.

Trey eventually moved inside, laying down near shir, pressing his nose against her briefly.

Shir was turned away when he came back, not even flinching when the cubs all climbed over her to get at the kill, Shir lay awake and listening to the cubs eat, sniffling to herself quietly.

Trey didn't return for several hours, evidently not in as much of a rush as he usually was. Eventually however, the saber dragged a large deer into the den, licking at his canines before moving to lay down outside.

Shir trembled and scrambled away to the den when he got off her, breathing heavily and she curled up with the now sleeping cubs, crying to herself quietly, her entire body trembling.

Trey growled and stepped off her once she submitted, "Stay with the cubs" he said angrily as he moved away. His anger getting the better of him, figuring if he was right and if the rogue came back, that was on her. In his temperamental state, the large saber, obviously, wasn't thinking straight.
