This Is Wrong But It Feels So Right (Stormwind)

Swallowflight flushed with embarrassment underneath her fur and looked away from the three toms, keeping a hold of her two birds so that she’d have an excuse not to talk. She wasn’t anywhere near as shameless as Blackstar about sex.

Blackstar frowned slightly, not having considered that his mouth would be full when he had planned on speaking with the other two toms. To that end, he dropped his prey, and mewed “Before we go back, I wanted to speak with you two.”

Darkwhisker lifted his brow curiously, while Redfeather pinned his ears, thinking he might be in trouble. Both cats dropped their own catches to listen and speak if need be.

Swallowflight had also caught a blackbird and blinked up at her mate, the two birds hanging from her jaws.

After spending a little while longer hunting, and snagging a pair of mice in the process, Blackstar reunited with his mate, glancing around to find their hunting companions.

Swallowflight dug a hole for her feathered prey and buried it.

Blackstar traced his prey through the undergrowth, and with practiced precision pounced on the prey and killed it with a bite to the neck before it could cry out in alarm.

Swallowflight carefully stepped over a twig, creeping a little closer before pouncing. The bird barely had enough time to look up in alarm before she landed on it, snapping its spine. She stared down at the plump bird beneath her paws with pride. Hah! I’ve still got it!

Blackstar stalked a shrew in the undergrowth.

Swallowflight caught the scent of a thrush and crept after it, ears flattened and tail held still.

Blackstar soiled knowingly but didn’t continue the teasing just yet, similarly scenting the air. He found his own prey to stalk as the other two Tom’s each padded off in different directions as well.

Swallowflight shivered at the touch, giving a sidelong glance to her mate. She tried to ignore it, opening her mouth to scent the air.

“Oh, I’m sure you’ll be back out sooner than you think,” Replied Blackstar innocently, though his tail skunk behind her and ghosted over her pussy lips blatantly. The two other warriors hadn’t noticed, continuing to pad forwards and scent the air for prey.

“I did,” Swallowflight agreed wistfully, twining her tail with his. “And I’m going to have to go back after this patrol.” She pouted slightly at the thought. “I’m not looking forward to it.”

“Why don’t you lead us, Redfeather?” Suggested Blackstar, dropping back to pad alongside his mate. The young tom looked surprised by the request but padded ahead, with Darkwhisker just behind. This allowed Blackstar to pad alongside Swallowflight, lovingly brushing pelts with his mate. “I bet you missed the territory, didn’t you?” The tom purred, looking around and trying to imagine being cooped up in the camp for as long as she had been.

Swallowflight padded just behind and to the side of Blackstar, looking around the forest she had sorely missed with a soft smile, her tail slowly swishing back and forth through the air as she breathed in.

“Greetings, Blackstar, Swallowflight,” Came Darkwhisker’s husky greeting, nodding to each cat cordially in turn. The Tom, who was a dark chocolate brown with black tabby swirls in his fur, stood up. The hint of gray on the end of the senior warrior’s muzzle only complemented his icy blue eyes.

Redfeather padded up to greet his leader and his mate with a friendly smile and a purr, his handsome features well defined. The Tom’s eyes glowed brightly as he exited the camp, the patrol allowing Blackstar to take the lead.

Swallowflight padded lightly after her mate, her fluffy tail flicking nervously. If anyone asked, she’d pass it off as being worried she’d mess up, not having been on a patrol in over three moons.

Blackstar followed his mate out, a smirk crossing his face when he spotted Darkwhisker and Redfeather waiting for them in the clearing. The younger warrior, Redfeather, looked rather impatient, his tail flicking from side to side. Darkwhisker looked stoic by comparison, the senior warrior’s strong features and huge build hinting at his size down below. Neither suspected a thing, assuming they were just going for a normal patrol with the leader and his mate.

Swallowflight pushed herself into a sitting position and quickly groomed her fluffy pelt before rising and padding after him.

Blackstar stood and stretched out, padding over to the nursery entrance to wait for her.

The she-cat shivered noticeable in response, having to hold back a soft groan at the images that filled her mind. She swallowed before replying with a soft, “Okay.”

When the time finally came for the kits to go free and Swallowflight to wake up for real, Blackstar groomed the top of her head. While it seemed an innocent enough gesture to anyone watching, it was really an excuse for him to get close enough to his mate’s ears. He smirked as he quietly growled “I had us put on the sunhigh patrol with Darkwhisker and Redfeather. We won’t actually do anything until tonight, but this is when I’m going to ask them.”

Swallowflight purred, nuzzling Blackstar before resting her head on her paws. She dozed until the sun was higher up in the sky, letting the kits loose once she was properly awake.

When the kits were all recovered Blackstar returned to the nest, snuggling up against Swallowflight once more.

Swallowflight glanced at the exit from the den and the light streaming in. From what she could tell the sun was only just rising, far too early for the kits to be up. She tried to get them to go back to sleep.
