This Is Wrong But It Feels So Right (Stormwind)

Blackstar nodded. “I’ll see you soon, Mallowstar.” The tom stood and padded to the entrance of the camp, stopping there just in case Meadowclan wanted to escort him out of their territory.

(Omg you said Skype lol. The image of Warriors with Skype is hilarious)

“Maybe,” Mallowstar said reluctantly, glancing around to avoid looking at her mate’s eyes. “You better get going, though. You’ve already stayed longer than you should have.”

Blackstar sighed with relief, managing to look into Mallowstar’s eyes again. “I’ll try and keep coming here as much as I can without arousing suspicion.” He glanced around carefully and took a Skype closer to the She-Cat before he added “And Maybe, once they’re old enough to walk... you could bring them to the border sometimes?”

Mallowstar relaxed slightly at the apology. “I apologize as well. I shouldn’t have been so belligerent.”

Blackstar looked back up to Mallowstar when she spoke, letting out a soft sigh. “I’m sorry,” He mewed simply at first, though he followed it up with an earnest “I acted like an entitled kit the last time we met.”

“What do you want, Blackstar?” Mallowstar finally asked, voice oddly resigned.

Blackstar didn’t break the silence right away, The tom staring down at his black paws as he tried to think of the right words to say to his mate. If one looked closely, the resemblance between the leader and Leafkit was palpable. And that was without mentioning Grasskit’s rare heterochromatic eyes: the kit was now one of only two cats in the clans that had them.

Mallowstar nodded and didn’t say anything else, an awkward silence ensuing.

Blackstar looked down at the trio of kits and couldn’t help but let out an affectionate purr. “They’re perfect names,” He mewed, deciding in that moment that Now wasn’t the time for him to be offended that she had chosen to name them without him. Instead, he should just enjoy her company and the presence of their kits.

Mallowstar looked down at their kits, her expression soft in a way she hadn’t directed at Blackstar. “Grasskit is the tom, Waterkit is the she-kit that looks like me, and Leafkit is the other she-kit.”

Blackstar’s eyes moved from their kits and locked on Mallowstar’s instead. The Tom gulped, figuring he already knew the answer, but he thought he should ask anyways.

“What are their names...?”

Mallowstar relaxed slightly but remained tense, nodding her head in agreement.

Blackstar wanted to frown in response to Mallowstar’s seemingly odd behavior, but his love for her and his kits won over and he managed a slight smile. “They’re perfect,” he murmured softly, his pride showing clearly in his eyes.

Mallowstar places the tiny kits on the ground and wrapped her tail around them, staring at Blackstar with her chin lifted challengingly. Almost as if she thought he might try to take them from her.

Blackstar couldn’t help but purr quietly when his mate re-emerged, carrying their kits by the scruff in her jaws. They were just as Otternose had described, and all three filled Blackstar’s heart with so much pride he felt it would burst.

Mallowstar soon emerged from the nursery, carefully carrying three young kits.

Blackstar pinned her ears back, not having expected such a hostile reception.

Mallowstar narrowed her eyes at the tom, edges of her muzzle curling into a displeased frown. “Fine. But you’re not allowed in the nursery. Wait here.” She vanished into the den.

Blackstar waited until after Rabbitfire left, shooting some cautious glances around the clearing before leaning in closer to Mallowstar. “May I see them...?” The tom Mewed softly, a little hope rising in his chest.

He’s not gonna have much luck lol. She named them the morning after Otternose went to see what they looked like. Timeskip after that?)

They both shook their heads and Rabbitfire headed off to set up some patrols.

(Nah, he’s gotta try and help Rainstar name the kits :3 )

Blackstar glanced around at the pair again. “Anything else on that matter?” He asked politely, though all he wanted to do now was talk to Rainstar.

Both MeadowClan cats nodded. 

(Timeskip to the next Gathering?)

Blackstar furrowed his brown in serious thought. “I don’t know,” mewled the male eventually. “But until we figure out a more detailed plan, I think we should present a united front against Miststar and Forestclan at the next gathering.”

“That’s… a good question,” Mallowstar said slowly. “I don’t know how we can find that out.”

Blackstar frowned.  “I don’t know.  This is the difficult part: Is Miststar provoking us, or are his warriors stealing prey because they’ll starve otherwise and know they can get away with it with him in his state?”
