Everlasting Love (Stormwind)

Peach sighed softly, staring blankly ahead of her and analyzing the moss of her nest as she awaited treatment. Rather than being jovial about her catch, the bengal was now cursing herself for making Willowheart waste her time and herbs on her.

Willowheart eyed them for a moment before huffing. “Fine. But if you start up again, I’m kicking you out,” she warned Blossomsnow, who nodded sullenly, and grabbed some herbs.

Peach pinned her ears back when Blossomsnow snapped at her, surprised by the sudden outburst from her friend. The slight, pained smile she’d managed fell right off her face, and the she-cat laid her head back down in her nest. All the same, she quietly murmured “It’s alright, Willowheart.”

“And you got hurt,” Blossomsnow snapped, not meaning to but her worry making her angry, especially with the way Peach was making light of her injury. “One measly squirrel isn’t worth getting yourself injured.”

Willowheart sighed in annoyance at the arguing cats. “If you’re going to talk to my patient like that, you can wait outside, Blossomsnow.”

Peach’s leg wasn’t broken, but it was dislocated at the shoulder after being jarred by the fall. The She-cat looked up at Blossomsnow with a slight smile despite the pain she was in. “I finally caught something by myself,” The she-cat huffed proudly.

Blossomsnow hovered worriedly while Willowheart came over.

Peach leaned more heavily on Oakfoot when Blossomsnow slipped ahead of them into camp. The tan tabby grunted with the extra exertion, but managed to lead the bengal into the medicine den and into a nest before breaking away.

Peach flopped clumsily into the nest, causing her to hiss as she jostled her dislocated shoulder again.

As the camp entrance was not wide enough for all three of them, Blossomsnow slipped ahead to lead the way into camp.

Oakfoot was similarly starting to strain slightly as the camp grew closer and closer to the trio. Straining his eyes, he could see that Emberleaf and Streamfire had already made it back, the patrol’s prey nearly arranged in the pile.

The walk was spent in silence and after several minutes they started to nest the camp. Blossomsnow huffed silently, grateful for it. Peach was just heavy enough to make carrying her for a while hard.

Peach limped along beside Blossomsnow and Oakfoot, thankful for the help. The She-cat pinned her ears back just about as far as they could go. She’d managed not only to embarrass herself, but create an extra burden for Blossomsnow as well, at a time where she was only trying to impress the pretty she-cat.

Blossomsnow carefully guided Peach along the path with Oakfoot’s help, Streamfire and Emberleaf deciding to go on ahead with all the prey so they could tell Willowheart what had happened and allow her to get ready for Peach.

Oakfoot dug his claws into the ground to ensure he wouldn’t slide as Peach used his body for support to stand up, getting help from Blossomsnow as well. The bengal she-cat hissed softly as she stood, but soon opened her eyes and nodded to Blossomsnow that she was ok. “I’m ready when you are,” the former kittypet huffed, looking from her friend to focus on the path ahead. Her injured leg stuck out at an awkward angle.

Blossomsnow presses herself against Peach, nuzzling a little underneath the she-cat to help her stand up.

“Right.” Oakfoot Replied. “Let me take one side, and you get the other.” The tan tabby padded around to the opposite side of Peach from his sister, looking over at her to coordinate.

Peach prepared to try and get to her paws, already gritting her teeth in anticipation of the new spark of pain that was sure to come.

Blossomsnow frowned slightly. “Probably,” she answered.

Peach had stopped clawing at the ground by now, though there was a good amount of overturned earth beneath her paws now. With a soft growl The she-cat managed to roll onto her belly, though she knew instantly she wouldn’t be able to stand up on her own without causing quite a bit of pain.

Oakfoot looked to Blossomsnow, dropping his prey to mew to his sister “Need some Help?” Peach would probably need support to get back to camp.

Streamfire frowned around the prey she was holding and followed Oakfoot, Emberleaf snatching up the squirrels before following behind.

“Peach’s hurt,” Oakfoot grunted to their patrol leader, beginning to follow his sister. It would be easier for them all to go to Peach instead of making her walk to them before heading back to camp.

Blossomsnow hurries the two squirrels to where Oakfoot and Emberleaf were waiting, explained what had happened, and rushed back to Peach just as Streamfire entered the clearing with a rabbit and a chaffinch hanging from her jaws.

Peach nodded, managing a smile at Blossomsnow once it was confirmed she had caught her prey.

Blossomsnow nodded with a frown. “But what’s more important is that you’re hurt. Wait, let me take the two squirrels to the meeting place and then I’ll come right back.”

Peach looked over at Blossomsnow with her teeth gritted. “I got it, didn’t I?” The she-cat managed to huff.

Oakfoot went back to dig up their earlier vole, returning with the creature and his mice in his jaws. The Tom then sat, waiting for the rest of the patrol to join back up with him and Emberleaf.

Blossomsnow hovered over her, eyes wide. “We gotta get you back to camp,” She fretted. 

Emberleaf was burying her pigeon when Oakfoot came back across her.

Peach was lying on her side, clawing at the ground in pain. She’d earned a few scratches across her sides and face from falling through the tree branches, but most alarmingly her shoulder seemed to have been dislocated. The squirrel was dead, at least.

Oakfoot had a little success on his own, snagging a pair of mice before going to meet up with Emberleaf again.
