Everlasting Love (Stormwind)

Mossflower squawked indignantly, flailing slightly underneath the tom.

Duststorm huffed softly, deciding that if he couldn’t beat Mossflower, he’d join her. The blind tom felt with his forepaw until he reached her belly, and then laid down directly on top of The she-cat, playfully squishing her in a move reminiscent of his usual self.

Mossflower groaned, grumpily and sleepily swatting at Duststorm’s paw before she rolled over, away from him.

Oakfoot dipped his head to the pretty She-cat, mewing a quick “See you then” before passing off.

Duststorm eventually grew bored of doing laps around the clearing and tired of waiting for Mossflower to wake up. He returned to the warrior’s den, the blindfolded tom prodding his mate with his forepaw.

Emberleaf flicked her tail and glanced around the camp.

Oakfoot blinked, a little unsure how to feel about her lack of enthusiasm. “Awesome,” The tom finally Mewed a few heartbeats later, glancing down and off to the side a little awkwardly.

Emberleaf shrugged as if she didn’t really care. “Sure.”

“We didn’t get to hunt as much as I would have liked,” Oakfoot mewed, his gaze on hers, “But it seemed like we worked well together.” The Tom’s heartbeat seemed to speed up and grow more intense as he stared at the beautiful She-cat. “Want to partner up for the special gathering?”

Emberleaf blinked at Oakfoot, tilting her head to the side curiously.

Oakfoot finally found Emberleaf again after the harried end to their patrol, indicating with a glance that he wanted to talk to her for a moment.

Blossomsnow lay down in the nest next to Peach despite the tight fit, pressing against the sleeping she-cat’s side.

“I think I’ll be alright,” slurred Peach, flopping into her nest instead of Blossomsnow’s. “Walking didn’t hurt. Willowheart is a good... cat.” Other words to express her gratitude to both the medicine cat and the other warrior simply escaped her. And within a few more heartbeats, the bengal laid her head down and closed her eyes.

Blossomsnow helped Peach to the warriors’ den, eyeing her worriedly.

Peach tested her leg out, finding that she could move it without much pain, and then slowly stood out of the medicine den nest. She started to hobble towards the warrior’s nest, her limp made even more clumsy by the drowsiness the seeds were causing.

“You’re welcome,” Blossomsnow murmured.

“Thanks for helping me back to camp,” The she-cat mewled, feeling her eyelids droop slightly as the poppy seeds took effect.

Blossoms ow didn’t say anything to refute that, much as she hated seeing Peach so down, and just stared at her paws.

Peach shook her head at Blossomsnow. “No, You’re right. It was stupid of me to go for that squirrel with my paws and not my teeth.” As gracious as she was being, The she-cat seemed a little deflated.

Willowheart nodded before going back to her herbs. 

Blossomsnow sighed and ducked her head. “I’m sorry for snapping at you,” she mumbled, “but I was upset you’re injured and angry you were making light of it.”

Peach nodded, obediently lapping up the seed and the other herb she didn’t recognize. At least these taste better than the twoleg medicine, she thought to herself, lifting her head oncebmore and looking to Willowheart.

“Thank you,” The bengal mewed earnestly before looking to Blossomsnow.

Willowheart took a step back to eye her handiwork and nodded in satisfaction before nudging a poppy seed and some-other-herb-that-will-help-that-I-don’t-know-the-name-of to Peach. “That’ll dull the pain. It’ll also make you sleepy.”

Peach gasped as her shoulder was set back in place, the stick splintering around where her teeth dig deep into it in response to the sudden pain.

Gently placing her paws on Peach’s dislocated shoulder, Willowheart felt along until she’d positioned her paws properly and then quickly shoved the Bengal’s shoulder back into place with a pop.

Peach felt a slight thrill of fear pass through her body when Willowheart promised her there would be pain, and quickly snatched the stick from the medicine cat. The bengal bit down hard even before the spotted grey she-cat walked around to her shoulder.

Willowheart also came back with a stick and gave it to Peach. “I’m going to have to pop your shoulder back into place. You’re going to want to bite down on that.”
