Run Away Bravely (Stormwind)

Heathertail swore colorfully, which caused those cats that knew and heard her to look at her with some alarm because she wasn’t known to swear at all. She clenched her jaw in anger and simply defended herself, not wanting to harm her Clanmates or perpetuate the fight by attacking cats from another Clan.

Lionblaze snarled, finding there wasn’t exactly an escape considering their position in the middle of the pack. In addition to that, some cats began to claw at him, some confused as to which cats were the enemy and others wanting to punish him for meddling in their affairs. Adrenaline began to course through the golden-brown tabby as he remembered Heathertail was beside him, and the male began to fight back furiously.

Unfortunately for all their efforts, tensions were simply too high and when one of the ShadowClan cats spat insults at WindClan, it exploded into a battle. The cats that didn’t want to fight, of which there were precious few, fled to avoid getting caught up in it.

(Let’s have it happen! Maybe not cause anymore deaths but injure some cats for sure!)

Lionblaze glanced desperately over at Heathertail, then at Onestar. These are your clanmates, do something! The tom wanted to yowl his appeal out to the pair but knew it was unlikely to help anything.

Hollyleaf grew more and more worried as their efforts seemed to cause only a few cats to back down and, indeed, make far more of them merely become more incensed. The tableau was a hair’s breadth from becoming a pitched battle.

Lionblaze glanced around him as he stood beside Heathertail, meeting the angry yowls of Windclan cats with his objections to their plan, which was seemingly only to cause more havoc on the island. All the while he kept a wary eye on Berrynose.

Heathertail arched a kittybrow and glanced at the cream-colored tom, noting the expression of eagerness and the way he appeared to be itching to unsheathe his claws.

Hollyleaf pricked her ears, hearing Heathertail and Lionblaze’s conversation, and after casting a brief, suspicious glance at the two of them (she hadn’t forgotten their almost nightly meetings when they were apprentices), slipped into the crowd of WindClan cats to try and talk down the four cats Heathertail had mentioned, helped by her Clanmates (the RiverClan cats had gone to ShadowClan).

Lionblaze glanced back over his clanmates who had joined him on the dividing line between the feuding clans. “I think most of us are just here to help, but I don’t trust Berrynose as far as I can throw him.” The male snorted his last remark to the pretty She-cat.

Heathertail startled when Lionblaze bumped into her and turned to him. Recognizing him, she took a few steps back so there was an entire tail-length Of distance between them and spoke to him for the first time since they separated, in a cool tone, “On our side, Crowfeather, Breezepelt, Antpelt, and Leaftail are the ones most eager to fight.”

Lionblaze gritted his teeth as he moved through the crowd, trying to reason with, or physically impose himself on, the whole grouping of cats. Not paying much attention he found himself accidentally bumping into Heathertail after a second.

Lionblaze’s words were echoed by most of the cats that were trying to stop the fight but it didn’t seem to appease anyone. Hollyleaf cast Lionblaze a desperate look before hurrying to go help Heathertail and Thistleheart.

“Listen to what Firestar is saying,” Lionblaze appealed desperately, keeping a sharp eye on the hot-headed Berrynose. “Killing more cats won’t solve anything!”

Judging by their faces, only three cats had followed Lionblaze in hopes of joining the fight, while the rest genuinely wanted to help stop the fight. The former included Hollyleaf, Brackenfur, Honeyfern, Mintfur, and Copperpaw, While the latter included Beechfur, Berrynose, and Rainstorm.

Lionblaze looked over his shoulder at the throng of cats that suddenly followed him into the thick of things, wondering how much he could trust them to not continue the fight.

(*winces at how badly I messed up Thistleheart, Sedgewhisker, and Swallowtail’s ages* They’re only supposed to be about 7 moons *fudges canon and places them at the same age as Breezepelt*

And Crowfeather wasn’t attempting to stop the fighting lol. It was just Heathertail, Thistleheart, Tawnypelt, Crowfrost, and Flamepaw)


Hollyleaf followed after Lionblaze at the realization of what he was doing, followed by a couple other ThunderClan cats and even some RiverClan cats. It appeared that while most seemed ready to have a good fight, there was still a good amount of cats that realized what a phenomenally bad idea that was. However, one of the RiverClan cats, Beechfur, had followed only because had seen an opportunity to join in on the fight. He was furious with the three cats that had caused it, and both of the Clans, because Gorsetail had been his mate.

The two opposing leaders seemed to back off a little, glaring at one another and at Firestar warily, but the tension down below threatened to boil over any moment. Without much other thought Lionblaze easily leapt over the bramble barrier, crossed the scentline into the Windclan camp, and got between the agitated Windclan cats and their Shadowclan counterparts, helping Heathertail, Crowfeather, and the others try to prevent further violence.

Hollyleaf watched the leaders worriedly, while Heathertail was desperately trying to keep her Clanmates from attacking ShadowClan with only Thistleheart’s help, but Tawnypelt, Crowfrost, and Flamepaw were trying to stop their Clanmates from attacking WindClan. Jayfeather has deemed the fight inevitable and was running through what herbs they had through his head and coming to the unpleasant conclusion that if a fight broke out they wouldn’t have enough to treat more than a few cats.

Blackstar And Onestar has now moved into the tree that the leaders spoke from, each snarling at one another through the tall, needle-filled branches, pure malice in their eyes. Unfortunately, the leaders of both clans were now furious with one another, and a fight seemed inevitable.

Green eyes darkening, Firestar entered the tree as well, jumping so he landed between the two opposing leaders. “Stop this!” He appealed with a yowl, knowing his clan’s welfare rested on his shoulders just as much as the other three clan’s did. “Surely your response to this terrible bloodshed isn’t to create more!”

Heathertail was one of those very few blaming just the cats that ended up causing the trouble and not their Clans, which included Thornclaw, Voletooth, and Crowfeather. The three toms had not gotten along so spectacularly that they had caused this huge mess and gotten three cats killed, two of which weren’t even in any of their Clans. She was just thankful she wasn’t related to any of the dead cats. She couldn’t imagine how it was for Gorsetail’s daughters.

Hollyleaf was worried, her green eyes darting between the two Clans practically howling for blood. They’d been so caught up in blaming each other, Blackstar hadn’t even chosen a new deputy. The black she-cat wondered idly in the back of her mind if he’d been in love with her, but most of the rest of her conscious mind was occupied with worrying about what this would mean for all them.

Jayfeather did his best to stay out of the conflict and not offer any of his opinions as he sat between his littermates, but he was privately of the opinion that the three toms that had caused this ought to be severely punished and something done about the split between Clans.

Lionblaze looked out over the rest of the island with a grim expression. Windclan and Shadowclan had both lost lives that day, and each of the two clans blamed the other. Now each clan was hungry for blood, and in order to get to one another they’d have to go through the camp of one of the other, bystanding clans. Lionblaze, and quite a few more of the cats of Thunderclan, looked to Firestar for guidance.

The tom was currently weighing doing what was right, and trying to mediate the conflict, and doing what was safest for his cats.

(*plots the death of kitties* *maniacal laughter with lightning flashing in background*)

Two days later, the entire island was in an uproar. Due to a few of the older warriors (no one was pointing paws but coughThornclawVoletoothCrowfeathercough) not getting along and even arguing during a vastly important patrol, they had attracted the attention of multiple turned, getting their other patrolmate Gorsetail, and when other cats cane to help them, Russetfur and Olivenose as well, killed.

(Hmm. One of the leaders or deputies could die because some cats couldn’t get along? Or more than just one cat could die)
