Catching A New Friend [Storm]

Darrel smiled softly, heading outside once he ensured the cubs and the cougar were all squared away.

Scarlet lashed her tail and she curled herself around her cubs, moving so she still felt the cold breeze from the fan but her body protected her cubs from it, she licked them off and on until her own purring soothed her to sleep, her paws continuing to knead the ground.

Happy, Darrel took the extra precaution of putting a box fan so that it blew on Scarlet, wanting to make sure she didn't overhear as he prepared formula for the cubs, knowing they might need milk while Scarlet was under surgery.

Once the remaining cub was removed and disposed of, Scarlet's labor ended and she curled around her cubs, fussing over them and grooming her cubs just like she should be, the two cubs were small, and probably would need help along the way of their growth, but they seemed healthy enough, if Scarlet had sensed anything wrong with them she would have done something about it, but she was calm now, her eyes closed and she purred loudly as she licked her cubs clean, letting them nurse greedily.

Sighing sadly, Darrel made sure the disgusting waste was out of her body, cleaning her with gloves and surgical soap.

Scarlet breathed hard and whined as she tried to push the next cub from her, her tail lashed and she laid flat on her side, she was clearly struggling with the last cub, when feeling her stomach it was for sure the last one, but something was very wrong, as Scarlet was trying to push out the last cub, the fluid from it's sac was nearly black as it oozed out of her, and there was a very bad rotten smell, a clear sign the cub had been dead for a while and had been decaying inside her, it was a wonder that the first two cubs were healthy with their sibling decaying that much.

Darrel had just begun to relax when suddenly she was pushing again, Quickly springing back into action to help the poor girl, though it was encouraging that the first two seemed healthy enough.

Scarlet lashed her tail and panted, letting out a whine as she continued to push, she raised her leg and licked at the cub as she was pushing it from her, the cub was squirming as it was finally born, this cub looked fairly different compared to it's older sibling and it's mother, it had different fur, it actually looked a lot like the wolf, just in a cougar form, Scarlet panted and thoroughly groomed both her cubs, her labor seemed to have ended before she practically threw her head back from the sudden pain and she bared her fangs as she began pushing again as her other two cubs squirmed and suckled from her.

Darrel moved to help her, knowing it was imperative he intervene as little as possible but he rubbed her back and side softly to try and help her squeeze the next cub the rest of the way out.

Scarlet squirmed and paced in the makeshift den, laying back on her side and her whole body tensed as she started pushing harder, the first cub slowly making it's way into the world, half the size than a fully developed cub, Scarlet began grooming and nuzzling the cub while waiting for the next, the first cub looked like a normal cub, though it was born with it's tail curled almost like a pig's tail, the cougress let the small cub nurse and she tensed as she began pushing again, the second cub showing under her tail.

Now that he knew what he was doing, Darrel quickly stepped in to help her, offering her soothing petting and words as the feral gave birth.

Scarlet shook herself off as she stood and she sniffed at the small container he was holding, tilting her head lightly and she stretched, after she was in a cold room, she was looking around to see if it was safe before she went into a dark cavern-like area, curling up in the darkness and she started lapping at her folds, the medication taking affect and her labor starting, small grunts could be heard from her as she already began pushing, a large puddle of fluid outside the small structure she was in, proof her water had broken and her labor had truly began.

Darrel simply kept petting his girl as they stayed on the long drive, finally arriving at the clinic, where he carefully carried her inside and administered the medication he'd gotten once he heard the professor arrive.

Scarlet purred as she kept her head on his lap, enjoying the cool breeze and his petting, her tail lashed softly and she turned her head to groom her stomach again, her cubs moving around more.

Darrel took one hand off of the wheel on the mostly empty, two-lane highway to continuously stroke poor Scarlet from her head to her back.

The professor kept his phone handy just in case as he went back inside. Scarlet woke after she heard the sounds of the road and she looked up, her ears perking, seeming to be fine since the cold air was blowing onto her and she leaned up, licking at the wolf's chin softly, her tail lashing and she purred, oblivious to what was wrong with her.

Darrel showed his attention by nodding and repeating what was being said before hopping into his truck again, starting the pair on the road back to home ASAP.

The cougress dozed off with her head in his lap, the cool air relaxing her enough to sleep despite the strange new place and all the noise, it wasn't long before the professor was back out front and waved to the wolf to come over, "Here's what you'll need, you can inject her with it or get her to ingest it, its made to make her think its all happening naturally, so it may be best to feed it to her whatever way is easiest, set her up in a familiar area that's cold and dark so she feels comfortable, but stay close in case anything happens, keep her cooled down like this and give her a day to form a bond with the cubs, maybe even two, but if she rejects them, take them from her and begin caring for them, call me as soon as that happens, if she rejects them we'll preform the surgery as fast as we can and maybe she'll take them back if we try, but don't force it" He stated.

Darrel groaned thankfully as she rubbed her head against his crotch, wondering if perhaps he'd trained her a little too well while he tried to keep his true relationship with her on the down low while they were in public.

The cougress was taking up the rest of the seat and she was starting to rub her head against his crotch, she looked like her symptoms were still hitting her strongly, but she was starting to get to her old self slowly as her body was cooling down.

Darrel drove in idle circles, though he did so with enough speed to ensure good airflow through the open windows on either side of the cab.

The cougress immediately went into the cab, not liking her cage and she curled up next to the wolf, laying her head in his lap before she turned back and resumed grooming her stomach, oblivious to what may be happening to her, it would be a struggle with her delivering the cubs early, it was very risky even without the risk of her life in surgery. "Just do what you have to so she's comfortable, I'll be here when everything is ready for you to head home" The professor called before running inside.

"I've driven her up there without sedative, so I'll do that." Nodding thankfully to the professor, Darrel hopped in the cab after freeing her to climb up into it with him, turning the AC on full blast and rolling the windows down as well.

"Alright, just drive around the parking lot until we have what we need to give you that way you can keep her cool, even sedate her and keep her in the cab with the air conditioning if you're willing to risk it, since you said that she's been with you for a few months" He said.

"I'll take her back home. We can cool her off, and I have a veterinary practice next door so you'll have all the equipment you need."
