Never Enough Pride [Ash]

Sasha walked out of the cave she had been hiding in and she moved around the enclosure to stretch her legs, she was in his area after a while and showing clear signs of blindness, she bumped into some things or would turn too fast and bang her head into a tree.

Kovu laid on his side, looking out the small glass pane as he did most days. His tail tapped against the floor, most lionesses were avoiding his particular area, he wasn't yet sure why, perhaps they were fearful, due to what he did to Kiara.

Sasha changed once Kovu had been taken away, she hid her cubs constantly and was rarely seen, the slashes along her face had caused her to go almost completely blind but the other lionesses always brought her food to make sure she did at least eat.

The keepers returned Sasha to her cage before moving Kovu to the encloser they'd use to seperate Sasha during birth. The floors were concrete and the door to the bigger encloser where the rest of the lions were was locked. Kovu lounged on a floor, every day he was in solitary confinement he seemed to only grow worse. The keepers were running tests daily, trying to determine when it would be appropriate for them to introduce him back into the pride. But currently their concern was the Cubs he'd sired.

Sasha let out a cry as he pounced on her, she trembled and tried to break away from him, his claws having raked alongh er face over her old scars and she felt his claws dig into her side.

Kovu shook his head, his eyes slitting, low rumbles in his chest escaped him. He bared his teeth when she spoke, he lowered himself to the ground but right before he pounced on Sasha he was shot three times with darts.

Sasha kept trying to get him back, "Kovu, we're all scared, we need our king to confort us, the cubs need their father" She tried reasoning with her mate.

Kovu turned to Sasha, his eyes softening for a moment, before he growled and moved to protect the kill, his eyes evidently not his own.

Sasha heard the keepers yelling and she ran out to her mate, risking getting too close to him and she whimpered, "Kovu, she's gone, that's enough" Sasha said quietly.

Kovu roared at a keeper that neared his kill, he was on the verge of blood lust, ready to kill anything that moved, he protected his kill aggressively his claws out he lunched and tore into a keeper that came too close.

Sasha and the cubs called out for Kovu, the rest of the lionesses kept trying to comfort them but the four needed Kovu.

Kovu growled, at the keepers, continuing to disfigure Kiara, his mane and paws thick with blood, his fangs dripping slightly, his scent was heavy in kiaras scent.

Keepers and staff quickly escorted guests away from the lions while their handlers tried to get the lions into their indoor cages, the lionesses were hesitant after the loss of the cub, but they slowly went into the indoor cages, Sasha having left the dead cub laying where he had died, keepers quickly tried to get the male inside as well, hoping he'd go quickly.

Noticing Kiara frantically paddling to the side Kovu lunged into the water, landing on Kiara, he gripped her scuff and dragged the tabby out of the water. She'd broken her neck when he'd landed on her. He laid beside her body and tore at the flesh, but didn't eat anything.

Sasha moved to her dead cub and she whimpered, curling around him, her ears twitched as the other three cubs let out fearful sounds as they saw whatbhad happened, the rest of the lionesses tried to comfort Sasha and the cubs.

Kovu roared his rage and charged at Kiara, he pushed past the other lionesses and grabbed kiaras throat dragging her across the cage, he got to the edge and bit down on her throat throwing her into the water.

The lioness watched as the cubs chased after their father, until one the the three larger cubs stumbled and tumbled close to Kiara, who instantly attacked the cub, killing him, the rest of the lionesses jumped up and charged Kiara, the group of females all attacking her at once.

He chuckled, nuzzling Seko and Khumba when he saw them, purring loudly he stood and ran from the Cubs playfully.

Sasha chuckled as she watched and she purred, glad he enjoyed playing with the cubs.

Kovu chuckled and rolled, letting the Cubs tackling him with a huff, he batted his paws lazily at the Cubs,

Sasha laid down and purred as she saw all four cubs try to tackle their father.

Kovu chuckled and spun around rolling and pawing at his son, he was careful with the cub putting ho force behind his paws.

Kumba squeaked and let out small giggles, chasing after his father and stumbling often, but he didn't seem bothered by it.

Kovu chuckled and as he ran towards the Cubs he nudged Kumba with a chuckle, leaping over him.

She rolled her eyes and cleaned herself up quickly before padding out after him, she purred and nuzzled the cubs when they ran to her.
