Never Enough Pride [Ash]

"I should warn you... Our handlers didn't know the keepers were letting you back in and... For a few days they let a male come in with us... They even let the implants in the other females to stop their heats come out" She said softly, her ears drooping.

He smiled and licked her affectionatly, for the moment he rested laying with his mate protectively.

"Whoops" She sighed as she laid down, leaning against him softly.

Kovu stood and immediately walked to her, guilding her to where he was laying, nuzzling her he laid down next to her.

"I'm right here" Sasha said as she slowly moved to him, bumping into a tree.

Kovu chuckled, at his Cubs but his eyes were searching for Sasha, calling for her

The cubs found their way to their father and they started pouncing on him.

When Kovu was finished he walked over to the trees and laid on his side, yawning.

Sasha let out a soft huff and she continued eating quietly.

Kovu moved over to the food, eating his share with some effort having to growl at a few lionesses who snarled at him.

Sasha stood and walked between the other lionesses as food was thrown down and they started eating, the cubs saw the lionesses eating and they ran over, squishing between the females to eat.

Kovu chuckled and batted at his son again, knowing the Cubs would need to learn to fight, especially if they were going to be shipped to lead their own prides,

Kumba growled playfully and he chased after his father, his ears back as he panted.

Kovu chuckled, letting Kovu up briefly before knocking him over again, Kovu chuckled and stood bounding away from his son.

Kumba kicked at and playfully bit his father's paw while trying to get back up.

Kovu chuckled and as he approached Kumba he pressed a paw to his side and pushed him over with a smirk

Kumba looked to his father and mimicked his father, crouching and lashing his tail.

Kovu chuckled and turned running low to the ground as if hunting he had his eyes set on Kumba.

Kumba squeaked and flopped onto his back when his father knocked him down, he and Seko let out laughs and they jumped at their father.

He huffed but stood and moved to play with the Cubs again, lunging forward he playfully knocked Kumba and Seko to the ground.

"I'll be fine Kovu, play with our boys" She said softly.

Kovu whined, and laid in front of her grooming her, she wondered if the keepers would try and fix her sight, he knew they could heal, but he wasn't sure how far their capability stretched.

"I'd love to join in Kovu, but being blind its hard enough to walk around, let alone play" She purred softly and licked at him.

Kovu chuckled, finding the Cubs much stronger than he remembered, he'd been tackled a few times under the Cubs combined weight. Chuckling he bounded toward Sasha, in a playful mood, he purred to the lioness, inviting her to join in.

Sasha relaxed with the other lionesses as she chuckled, hearing the cubs laughing and pouncing on their father, they had grown some and were bigger than last time they were with their father, in the wild they would be joining hunts already.
