"Don't think so!" Olivepaw called out from inside, where every apprentice had now gathered.

"There's only one real way to decide who gets what nest." Dovepaw, her twin sister, chimed in.

Duststorm stopped in his tracks when he determined they were far enough from camp, knocking Mossflower on her back as she strolled past. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do this to you wothout being interrupted." He purred, immediately pinning her with his forepaws and kissing her forcefully.

Emberpaw nodded, running off to join the other apprentices inside their new den. "I call the nest in the back!"

Mossflower happily followed her mate out into the forest, ignoring the tingles of anticipation and nervousness running down her spine.

Oakpaw nodded respectfully towards Goldenfrost before turning towards the apprentice's den, hoping to get there before the nests closest to the center were taken.

Honeypelt purred, nudging her apprentice with her muzzle affectionately. "We're going to see the territory tomorrow at sunrise. Be ready. Until then," she purred, licking her behind the ear once, "Have fun!"

"Glad you think so." Duststorm purred, turning to smirk evilly at Mossflower with his good eye as he lead the way out of camp.

Brackenspots just blinked after Echopaw with a bemused expression.

Willowpaw nodded eagerly, giving a little bounce before settling herself again.

Goldenfrost chuckled softly. "Settle down. We're going to see the territory tomorrow morning with the others."

Emberpaw kept skipping around her, her source of energy seemingly inexhaustible.

A barely imperceptible shudder ran through the tortoiseshell warrior and she gave her mate a swift glance. "That sounds fun," she said agreeably.

"Wolfpaw's really smart, and really, really wants to learn a lot. He thinks he can learn more from Sterlingflight just because he's deputy." Echopaw explained. "So," she continued with a smile, "just show him that you're just as good of a warrior as he is, and Wolfpaw will be the best apprentice ever!" With that, she bounded back to Brookwing.

Silverwish looked to Willowpaw with a soft smile. "Want to see your new nest in the medicine den?"

Oakpaw flicked his ears a little bit, his eyes gleaming. "What's first? I want to learn how to be a better warrior than any cat the clan's ever seen!" His energy finally got the best of him.

Honeypelt watched her apprentice pad in circles around her, purring softly. "As am I. You're my first apprentice."

"I don't know either." Duststorm mewed dramatically. After scanning the crowd, who were mostly busy talking amongst themselves or congratulating the new apprentices, he snaked his tail between Mossflower's hindlegs as she sat next to him. "Perhaps take a walk in the forest?"

Blossompaw looked delighted. "Thank you, Sterlingflight!" She exclaimed, running off to the apprentices' den to make herself a nest.

Brackenspots looked down at Echopaw. "Yes?"

Willowpaw looked quietly happy at that statement, barely containing her excitement and refraining from bouncing on her toes.

Goldenfrost smiled indulgently at the young tom. "Thank you."

Emberpaw skipped around Honeypelt. "I'm happier than I've ever been before!"

"I don't know," Mossflower declared dramatically. "However shall we survive without little balls of fur running around underneath out paws every five seconds?"

Duststorm rubbed muzzles with his mate, chest rumbling with loud purrs as he turned to look at her, his tail entwining around his mate's. "What on Earth are we going to do now that we don't have to look after those fluffballs constantly?" He teased, casting an affectionate glance at their kits.

As bubbly as always, Echopaw bounded up to Brackenspots after noticing his disappointment. "Hey!" She mewed softly, nudging the warrior's shoulder with her nose as Wolfpaw stalked off to survey his new nest. She had shown a real sensitivity to the emotions of others, even as a kit.

Oakpaw grinned back at Goldenfrost as he broke the contact. "Hello." He mewed happily, his voice almost cracking as he tried to contain his excitement. "Your name's really pretty."

Silverwish smiled at Willowpaw. "I'm really glad you chose this path, Willowpaw." Her honest mewl was accompanied by an affectionate flick of her tail over Willowpaw's ears. I've been watching you and your littermates since you were born, and you were always the one I hoped would want to become my apprentice."

Honeypelt grinned as her new apprentice, Emberpaw, completed the sacred ritual. "How are you, Emberpaw?" She couldn't help but admire the apprentice's features for a moment, in particular dazzled by the way the light reflected off of the red patches on her perfectly groomed calico coat.

Sterlingflight dipped his head courteously to Blossompaw. "Deputy of Loveclan at your service." He purred teasingly, looking back up at her enthusiastically. "I may be a little busier than other warriors sometimes, so your schedule for training won't always line up with everyone else's." He mewed. "But I think we can join the others tomorrow morning for the tour of the territory."

Rainstar concluded the ceremony and leaped down from the rock, tail high and eyes shining. She always loved warrior and apprentice ceremonies, watching the pride and joy shine in the cats' eyes, and it made it extra special that her kits were part of this ceremony.

Mossflower beamed with joy, pride practically emanating from her as she pressed against Duststorm.

Goldenfrost touched noses with Oakpaw, smiling softly as she was assigned her second apprentice (first one unknown).

Brackenspots touched noses with Wolfpaw, hiding his disappointment at the clear envy and disappointment in his new apprentice's eyes.

Streamfire was slightly disappointed she hadn't got an apprentice but then realized that she probably didn't have the patience to be a mentor. So she was happy for her sister.

Brookwing touched noses with Echopaw, the gentle she-cat's eyes shining with quiet joy that the leader had entrusted her youngest daughter (and BW's half sister, I just realized that) to her, a former rogue that had only recently joined the Clan.

Emberpaw was practically bouncing in place as she touched noses with Honeypelt, her tail waving.

Willowpaw happily touched noses with Silverwish when she reached her, and Blossompaw touched noses with her mentor.

Oakpaw's heart raced as he touched noses with Goldenfrost, purring loudly as he did everything he could to keep from losing control of himself and looking immature in front of the clan.

Honeypelt dipped her head to touch noses with Emberpaw, purring softly.

Silverwish smiled warmly at Willowpaw as the new apprentice approached, wondering to herself if she was actually qualified to be doing this.

Wolfpaw's stout frame padded up to Brackenspots, the intelligent tom wondering with envy if he'd actually learn as much from a young warrior as Blossompaw would from Sterlingflight, the deputy.

Sterlingflight grinned in a friendly way, quickly touching noses with his new apprentice, Blossompaw.

Echopaw's entire lithe frame shook with a purr when she padded up to Brookwing.

Rainstar smiled at Sterlingflight and proceeded to start the ceremony, naming each kit an apprentice with the suffix -paw and assigning them mentors.

Sterlingflight grinned, shooting Rainstar a wink as she sat above the rest of the clan. Everyone was highly anticipating this day, as even Silverwish and the twin she-cat apprentices were sitting eagerly beneath. Despite being older, Olivepaw and Dovepaw could hardly wait to have company in the apprentice's den, which they, along with Stream and Brook, had had to busily expand in anticipation of the kit's arrival.

Rainstar's eyes were definitely shining with pride as she watched the kits join her, four of which were her own. Her previous litter hadn't even lived five seconds.

Silverwish chuckled at the massive horde of kits climbing the ridge to stand alongside their leader, all six of the latest litters were to become apprentices today. The other cats of the clan gathered around her, and she purred when she looked over to see Sterlingflight and Duststorm sitting together, beaming proudly.
