| Veta flinched back as he roared, her breathing quickening and she trembled heavily, glancing back to Aspen, who was hiding behind her and crying in fear, "But it happened Knox, I understood what you were saying back then, but you didn't see my side either" She said, trying to calm Aspen by humming softly, keeping her eyes on Knox. | |

| Knox snarled, “our son!” He roared, his wings flicking, before his features softened I didn’t mean to Veta...” | |

| "How am I supposed to know Knox? I have the scars to give me the reason not to trust you anymore" She said, getting Aspen behind her, she gave a gesture and the other angels backed off slightly, but they were ready to try to help if they had to, "I never thought you would have hurt me like that, how do I know what you will or won't do to my son" She hissed back. | |

| The demon was starting to grow angry again, narrowing his eyes at her, “you think I’m going to hurt him?” He demanded, his eyes glowing. | |

| Aspen jumped and gave a whine as he clung onto his mother, he didn't recognize his father, Veta jolted up, spotting Knox and she tried to put Aspen behind her, the other adult angels coming to see what happened. | |

| It didn’t take long for Knox to notice the pair, he landed abruptly and heavily in front of them. He eased himself down, so he didn’t scare them off. | |

| Veta sat and leaned against a tree as she held Aspen in her lap, letting the young demon eat, Veta tried to keep herself awake, Aspen even trying, but exhaustion was threatening to take hold of the mother. | |

| Thankfully, Knox had been hunting during this time, the large demon had slaughtered a nearby heard of deer. | |

| Veta glanced about constantly, one of the children in one of the other wagons climbed out and claimed to be hungry, Veta winced as the other children began begging for food, Veta tried to see if she could see Knox, when she was unable to she gave the all clear for the children to come out, Aspen rushed to her and clung onto her as she lifted him up, "You're getting too big for this already" She cooed softly to her son. | |

| Knox was stationed in a tree, observing the group of angels, he was still yet to see his son however. Although he assumed that Veta would be hiding him away, afraid of what Knox would do if he saw him. | |

| She watched him go and she sighed, tears pricking her eyes, she missed the Knox she knew, the one she had fallen for, the angel's kept the children hidden within the covered caravan, the adults constantly looking about for the demon. | |

| Knox growled, clenching his fists, his eyes glowing angrily, “I’m not leaving without him” he flexed his wings and disappeared into the sky. | |

| Veta watched him, raising a light brow, she couldn't help backing up slightly as he came closer, "Knox I... We..." she sighed, "What do you want? We need to keep moving if we want to make camp..." she murmured, glancing away from the male. | |

| Knox turned toward Veta, stretching his bent wings out impressively, he approached the female, “I’ve missed you...both of you...” | |

| She gave a breath as she watched him, "Knox, they're all scared, they won't come out with you so angry" She said. | |

| Clearly the demon was in no mood to sit and chat, he narrowed his eyes, his nostrils flared as he looked for his son. Some angels looked ready to try and stop him, others, flinched back. | |

| She gave a breath as the angel scrambled behind her, "He's here, with the others" She said, trying to figure out how she could defuse things, "Knox... He can come out if you settle down... We'll sit and chat... That okay?" She asked, she could hear Aspen whimpering with the other children, he probably would have tried to defend his mother if he had been around his father more, but the demon children raised by angels were more hesitant and fearful of the large demon. | |

| Knox eased his grip and let the angel go, his eyes darting around, “where is he?” He demanded. | |

| "Knox... If you let her go... I'll help fix your wing... It still looks pretty bad" She said softly, hesitantly trying to get closer, "Knox, you don't need to do this, you just hunted didn't you? That was your kill back there" She murmured. | |

| Knox watched Veta approach, clearly recognising the female. But a year away had damaged him, he continued to squeeze the angel, his muscles clenching. His once broken wing seemed strong enough to carry him now, but it had healed incorrectly and was slightly bent. | |

| Veta looked up as the other angel gave the warning, "Wait! Don't atta-" She winced as the angel was tackled and help up, she had Aspen hide with the other children, slowly approaching the large demon, "Knox... Knox you have to let her go..." she said softly, she was clearly still fearful of him, flinching at his slightest movement. | |

| Knox continued to follow the group, until an particularly brave angel saw him and warned the others, screaming she threw a ball of fire at Knox who had been hovering above them. The fire bounced unlessly off the demons chest. But now angry, the demon dove for the angel, he knocked her to the ground at he landed, his eyes blood red as he picked up the angel by the neck, squeezing and lifting her off the ground. Tilting his head dangerously. The demon clearly missing his compassion, his movements almost animalistic. | |

| Veta looked up, the shadow all too familiar, as she saw Knox, she knew he wasn't the same, running as fast as she could to catch up, trying to pretend like she hadn't noticed the large demon, panting softly and she walked with Aspen, holding her son's hand softly, some of the other children running about as the caravan continued. | |

| Without noticing, Knox flew right over top of Veta, his large body and wings casting a heavy shadow over the angel, the demons attention was on the sight of his child. Clearly the year away from Veta had caused him to revert made to his demonic ways. | |

| Veta got up and began scolding the young children as they found another recent kill, she shooed the children off, sticking back to examine the kill, frowning heavily, she glanced about, she knew this work, Knox, she glanced about again before rising to go catch up with the rest of the group, hearing Aspen calling for her from afar. | |
