Everlasting Love (Stormwind)

Oakfoot noticed Willowheart padding towards him, but had to let out a tired yawn before he could speak to her. When she sat down he mewed a friendly “Hey, Willowheart.” The tom blinked the sleep out of his green eyes as he looked over at the medicine cat.

Willowheart padded out of the medicine cat den shortly after Oakfoot came into the clearing, the she-cat pausing for a moment to stretch and yawn before heading over to the fresh-kill pile.

The next morning, Oakfoot surprised even himself by waking up before any other warrior in the warrior’s den.  Naturally Sterlingflight was already up and brooding in the direction of the sunrise as the tan tabby padded into the clearing, but he was stunned to be the first.  Sighing softly, he stretched out and padded to the fresh-kill pile, thinking about things as he selected a piece of prey from the pile.

Mossflower closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep.

Duststorm did just that, rolling onto his side and pressing his spine firmly against his mate’s body before closing his eyes and falling asleep.

Mossflower huffed softly but responded affectionately, “I love you too, you big kitten. Now go to sleep.”

Duststorm purred softly, the blind tom only hugging her tighter in response to her whine. “I love you...” The tom purred softly, closing his eyes as he pressed his face against her body.

Wolfheart couldn’t help but roll his eyes from his position at the edge of the group of nests as the pair flirted.

Mossflower huffed at him in both affection and exasperation, gently swatting him with her tail. “Duststoooorrrrm,” she whined.

Duststorm rolled onto his side, as always, so he could wrap his forepaws around his mate, the same way they’d always snuggled together from the very first time they had cuddled. The Tom purred quietly, adding a teasing “You’ll always be my little apprentice, Mosspaw.” He followed this statement with some affectionate grooming between his mate’s ears.

Mossflower settled herself into their nest beside him, snuggling into his side with a sigh.

“Well then,” Duststorm mewled, a little awkwardly as he shuffled into his own nest, waiting for Mossflower to join him. He could discuss this with Blossomsnow later.

“They’re sharing a nest,” Mossflower repeated, also sounding as if she couldn’t believe it. “Blossomsnow’s nest, to be more specific.”

Duststorm blinked in surprise beneath his eyepatch. “...What?” The Tom’s tone was neutral, as he was truly unsure what he thought of his daughter sharing a nest with a kittypet.

Rainstar and Blossomsnow drifted off to sleep.

Mossflower cuffed her mate over the ears. “You know very well she’s not a kittypet anymore,” she scolded him before answering his question. “She and Blossomsnow are sharing a nest,” she said after a moment in which she glanced over at the two, surprise in her mew.

Sterlingflight chose to fall asleep on his belly as well, resting his head on his mate’s shoulders instead of his own paws. The Tom sighed softly as he closed his eyes.

Peach rested her head on her paws as well, not wanting to push the boundaries considering Blossomsnow was not yet in love with her. She did keep her pelt pressed close to the other she-cat’s, however. As she fell asleep she didn’t notice the looks they were getting from the other warriors entering the den.

Duststorm sensed from a lack of warmth that Peach’s nest was empty, but he could still scent her strongly. Turning to Mossflower, he murmured “Where is the kittypet? Blossomsnow’s supposed to be looking after her.”

Rainstar purred softly, eyes brightening a little, and licked his muzzle in response before placing her head on her paws.

Blossomsnow smiled at Peach before resting her head on her paws, curled up against the she-cat’s side.

In a sign that the normal Sterlingflight was still in there somewhere, the calico tom was compelled suddenly to lick at Rainstar’s nose teasingly, the tom’s mouth even curling in a slight smile. Such a thing had been rare for the tom ever since Eagle died.

Peach purred quietly as she settled in beside Blossomsnow. This feels wonderful, The She-cat thought happily, giving the other she-cat a grateful look from her amber eyes.

Rainstar blinked back at him, worried but well-used to his moods by now.

Blossomsnow purred softly, nuzzling the other she-cat.

Sterlingflight didn’t say anything, but flopped over onto his other side so he could face her. He glanced into her eyes sadly, seeming to want to say something, but remaining dead quiet.

Peach gently climbed into the nest as well, The she-cat happily curling up with Blossomsnow, their warmth now shared.

Rainstar tiredly batted at Sterlingflight. “Stop squirming.”

Blossomsnow stepped into her nest and curled up in one side of it, blinking up at Peach and waiting for her to get in, too.

“Sure,” Came Peach’s mew, The she-cat shocked to get such an offer. She eagerly stepped to the side to allow Blossomsnow to lay down, gently setting the flower she’d picked down in her own nest.

Sterlingflight sighed, restlessly squirming beside Rainstar.

Blossomsnow hesitated before offering, “You could join me in my nest, if you like?”

Rainstar curled up at Sterlingflight’s side with a yawn.

“T-thank you,” Peach murmured softly at the compliments, giving Blossomsnow an affectionate lick to the muzzle before pulling away, respecting that the she-cat didn’t yet share her feelings. The bengal found herself looking into Blossomsnow’s eyes again. I’ll show her why she should love me!

Sterlingflight laid beside Rainstar in her nest, still not seeming much like his usual self.

Blossomsnow smiled softly. “I don’t think I love you, not yet, but I do know that you’re very pretty and I like you. I think I could grow to love you,” she said quietly.

Peach panted softly into Blossomsnow’s mouth before breaking the kiss, the inexperienced she-cat having to pull away to breathe a few heartbeats after Blossomsnow began to return it. The bengal glanced at Blossomsnow, still panting softly, her eyes questioning and loving all at once.
