Run Away Bravely (Stormwind)

Heathertail blinked at him questioningly, tilting her head to the side.

Lionblaze returned the lick, before drawing back and looking into Heathertail’s heathery blue eyes again. “Heathertail…” He mewed softly, the question he wanted to ask was right on the tip of his tongue.

Heathertail licked his nose, smiling.

Lionblaze chuckled, batting at Heathertail’s muzzle with his forepaws. After a playful moment the tom perked his ears as he found himself drawn into her eyes.

Heathertail pouted at him. “I was not. That was my brother.”

(Emberfoot and Willowclaw (dead) were from an older litter and Drizzlepaw and Rustlepaw (both dead) were from her litter. At least in my version of the family tree)

“They are,” cooed Lionblaze. “It’s so adorable watching them bumble around like that!” Pinning his ears back, he mewed teasingly “I️ bet you were the most clumsy cat in Windclan’s nursery.”

Heathertail smiled softly. “I always try to make some time to play with the kits frequently. They’re so tiny and adorable.”

Lionblaze felt a loud purr rumble through his body as Heathertail approached once more from the nursery. “That was fun!” The Tom’s earnest, affectionate mew referred to playing with the kits, the tom now even more eager to have a family with the beautiful she-cat before him.

Heathertail returned to her mate once the kits were safely ensconced in their nests.

Lionblaze didn’t move, waiting somewhat eagerly to see if Heathertail would rejoin him once she was done putting the kits to sleep.

Eventually the kits grew tired and after giving a Lionblaze a quick lick to his cheek Heathertail ushered them off back to their mothers.

Lionblaze laughed at the feeling of kitten paws, claws, and teeth on his tail, continuing to dangle it enticingly for the kits. when he reopened them he found his gaze locked on hers, and he stared into her eyes for a moment, the male sharing a moment of intense bonding that could only be a sure sign of his true love for her.

Heathertail watched with a soft, fond gaze as the kits instantly lost their caution and pounced on his tail, playing with it.

“Hey there,” purred Lionblaze to the tiny, wide-eyes kits, laying besides Heathertail, a cat they trusted, and offering his tail to them as a toy. The Tom wasn’t super confident in how he was with kits, but all the same couldn’t wait to have some of his own.

Swallowtail’s and Shrewfoot’s kits stared up at Lionblaze with wide eyes, all of them less than a moon old.

Lionblaze eventually sat up and abandoned his attack on Heathertail’s tail, glancing over at the kits she was playing with and offering them a friendly smile.

Heathertail whined, swatting at his face. “Stop it.”

Lionblaze gnawed on his mate’s tail, unresponsive to her calling his name as he smirked teasingly around the appendage in his mouth.

Heathertail yelped in surprise and whipped around to see her mate. “Lionblaze!”

Lionblaze noticed Heathertail playing with some kits and carefully crept around outside her circle of vision. he snuck around her until he was behind her, and crouched down, making her tail his target and pouncing as if he was just a bigger kitten.

(What elders? Lol. Tallpoppy is the only elder)

Leafpool wanted to wait but she knew she couldn’t and so, reluctantly, she headed to the medicine cat den.

Heathertail was spending her time playing with some of the kits, eyes soft.

Lionblaze finally finished speaking to the other leaders. They had agreed with him on combining the dens of the warriors, medicine cats, apprentices, and queens, but thought the elders might want to remain separated for now. The Tom sought out Heathertail, eager to spend every moment he could in her company now that it was allowed.

Now that she had mostly reached safety Leafpool cast a worried glance over her shoulder before crossing the log.

Squirrelflight hadn’t caught up to Leafpool by the time the other she-cat reached the log.

Leafpool didn’t look back, by now uncomfortably used to fleeing and knowing looking back was the worst thing you could do.
