Dim Light (Stormwind)

Riverflight has to fight to not let out an exasperated glare. “Come back with us,” he offered to the vulnerable young tom. “We can make sure your injury doesn’t get infected, and get you a little food. You don’t have to say a word to us until after that.”

More silence and a glare.

Riverflight pressed the tom for yet more information. “Did you see a tom named Rainstorm?”

Still no answer, but dark fur bristled.

“I’ll take that to mean yes, since we’ve never seen you before.” Riverflight replied. “How did you get hurt? We have a cat that can help you.”

He glared at Riverflight, remaining stubbornly silent.

(*decides to change his black fur to dark blue-gray*)

Riverflight dipped his head. “Don’t we know?” He glanced over to his other two warriors, remembering how they’d been driven out of their home. Looking back to the stranger, the deputy mewed “I’m Riverflight. Are you lost?”

He scowled at the other tom. “That’s what they all say,” he hissed, his voice surprisingly pleasant to hear despite the venom in it.

“We’re not here to hurt you, we want to know a few things though.” The deputy sat down, curling his tail over his paws to seem like less of a threat.

The tom didn’t speak, golden eyes narrowing at Riverflight.

Riverflight was startled by the young Tom’s hiss, but after jumping initially he calmed himself down. “Are you ok?” Was the Tom’s first question, remembering the blood trail they had followed here.

The young black tom gave a startled hiss at the sudden sigh of the two cats, flattening himself against the side of the log.

Graycloud stayed back, waiting.

Riverflight motioned to Spottedpelt, the deputy going around to one end of the log while the tortoiseshell crept up to the other.

Spottedpelt didn’t poke her head inside until Riverflight signaled for it with his tail, and then both cars looked simultaneously.

Stepping delicately forward, Graycloud made her way towards a hollow log.

Riverflight nodded, his eyes watering as the scent of this stranger seemed overwhelmingly strong.

Graycloud paused and lifted her head. “We’re almost there.”

Both other warriors noticed that the scent was getting more and more fresh, their wary gazes covering the forest all around them as they searched for the source.

(My iPod is getting low on power and I don’t have anything to charge it with atm so I might disappear for a little while until I get home)

Graycloud kept following the trail, ears twitching as it started growing stronger and fresher.

While Spottedpelt glanced all around them for clues, Riverflight kept his eyes on the snow beneath, just in case he could see something Graycloud couldn’t smell.

Graycloud kept her mouth open to track the scent, delicately stepping across the snow.

Spottedpelt followed just behind the deputy and the tracker, warily looking around for more signs of the strange cat whose scent trail they were following.

Graycloud stepped forward to get a more thorough sniff of the scent before starting to follow the trail.

Riverflight dipped his head to the affirmative, stepping back to let Graycloud lead them onwards.

(Not really, he realizes this cat might have attacked Rainstorm and Rainstorm might have hurt him in self-defense.)
