A Late Jurassic Heart [Ash]

“I’m fine”she huffed at him, “now lay yourself down before I challenge you” she smirked, waving her tail.

"I should kill him for that" He snorted, softly cleaning her wound, his tail swaying in agitation.

Maze nuzzled his mate worriedly, huffing and wincing, “it’s fine.”

Nanuk snorted and he shook himself off, limping to his mate and he nuzzled her softly, snorting and frowning at her wound from the other male.

The other male roared, eventually rolling and running back toward the rest of the heard, bowing his head.

The large male snorted as he let himself come down, his feet landing on either side of his head, he roared his victory before he turned from the other male, huffing as he limped back toward his mate, swatting his tail toward the other male again to make a point to leave them alone.

The large male cowered, roaring in submission as the male curled his tail, still trying to get back up.

Nanuk panted as he stumbled back when the other fell, he moved to him again and swiped his tail at him, smacking the bottom of his tail against the other male's face, rising up onto his back legs, roaring as he threatened to come back down onto his head.

The large male roared in surprise as his leg was pulled and was toppled, roaring he rolled to try and get back up.

Nanuk roared as he backed off slightly, only to swing his tail toward the other male, Nanuk roared in pain as the other male's tail hit against his open wounds, the large male shoved at the other male, breathing heavily as he waved his tail about, trying to hook his tail spikes around the other male's back leg.

The leader roared in response, pulling back against the larger male, swinging his tail wildly, the male attempted to rise up to make the other male let go.

Nanuk snorted loudly as he charged toward the other male, rising up onto his back legs and he roared as he crashed down loudly, his tail slamming against the ground, he roughly slammed his frame against the other male's swiping his tail at him as he bit at the leader.

Maze whined out at her mate, maintaining her ground, although the large buck roared and charged forward, shoving her out of the way, forcing her to jolt away to avoid his tail. Maze whined, rushing over to their next, standing over it protectively while nursing a small wound in her side. The leader roared, running forward and slamming his front legs down.

Nanuk was grazing where he lay, glancing up as he heard the other's challenge, he slowly stood, groaning out loudly, and he brushed against his mate, "This isn't something for you" He said lightly to his mate.

Maze snorted happily, although soon looked up, alert, noticing the leader making his way over, the male was snorting intimidatingly at Nanuk. Clearly eager to challenge the male while he was weak, to maintain his position as lead buck and make an example out of the rogue pair. He slammed his tail down in challenge. Maze roared in defiance and placed herself between the male and her mate.

He chuckled and nuzzled her softly, licking at her face lightly.

“Forever” the female corrected, nudging his large body with her small head.

"For now" He said, chuckling softly, nipping at her playfully.

Maze nuzzled him gently, “my turn to protect you” she smirked, swinging her tail.

"Yeah... At least none of the hatchlings were grabbed badly" He panted, nuzzling her softly, "They did a number on me though" He grunted as he tried to get comfortable.

Maze nuzzled him gently, “are you alright?” She asked gently, licking at his wounds.

Nanuk breathed heavily and he huffed as he watched the hatchling, "Well, like mother like daughter" He teased lightly, the male slowly moving and he flopped down beside the nest, unable to stand anymore, his wounds continuing to bleed heavily and he laid his head down, his tail flicking lightly as he laid there.

The tiny female chirped in surprise as her attacker was lunched, the female only earning a stratch along her side. The female hurried back to the nest, but seemed to get distracted by his brother and trotted over, sniffing at the roots he was eating, looking up at him. Maze huffed, walking over to the female, who looked up and cowered down, Maze picked her up and brought her back to the nest. “That ones trouble.”

Nanuk roared as he felt the raptor under him too late, he swiped his tail while the raptor was still close enough, managing to launch it with a mighty swing, but unsure if it managed to get to the hatchling, turning and staying over the nest to protect the other two hatchlings.

The smallest female hatchling let out a call of panic, ducking out from under her father the hatchling attempted to run from a raptor who had hidden behind the large stegosaurs. The raptor bit at the small stegosaurus. Maze roared in surprise running toward the raptor.
