Cretatous Survival (Ash)

The females slept deeply, both seeming content.

Scowler chuckled at the two of them, tired aswell, but he couldn't risk falling asleep currently - although after his fight no one seemed to be looking in his general direction.

It wasn't long before both females were in a deep sleep, both tired from migrating and being chased by males.

Scowler watched the pair and their hatchlings, keeping an eye out for any other possible challengers.

When the young were fed and asleep, Trics and Oceana seemed to relax, the pair taking turns sleeping.

Scowler laid near them protectively.

Both females stayed laying together with the hatchlings.

Scowler called back to them, nuzzling them both, the large male puffing himself up and shaking his frill dominantly, his already inflated ego seemingly swollen further after the fight.

The females looked to their mate as he returned, the pair giving soft calls.

Scowler approached the young male, roaring directly next to his ear before grunting and turning his back on the defeated male, heading back towards his mates.

The young male cried out as he tumbled down, looking up toward the other male submissively.

Scowler chased the male away, roaring his victory, for good measure he purposed toppled the smaller male.

The male began backing down, whining and turning when he got the chance, trying to run away.

Scowler roared as he started to force the younger male back, who now had two options; one, back off and try to attack scowler again, but risk the large male's horns or two, submit.

The females flinched at the loud sound, but both knew the young male couldn't defeat Scowler.

The smaller male tried pushing back against Scowler, letting out a growl.

Scowler huffed loudly at the young male, his last opportunity to back done gone as Scowler lowered his frill and horns and charged at the smaller male, the loud crash that followed was enough to turn the heads of almost everyone.

The young male felt bold as he tried to win over a mate, rising up onto his rear legs and crashing down, trying to intimidate the larger male.

Scowler roared, shaking his frill dominantly and rising up on his back legs only to slam down hard, making several trike's near them run. Scowler started to slowly circle the younger male, who probably saw this as his only opportunity to get a mate.

The females retreated toward their hatchlings, Trics having to lay down as she breathed hard.

Oceana kept her eyes on their mate, frowningwh en the young male who presued them, stood and didn't plan on backing down, waving his horns about.

It didn't take long for Scowler to locate his missing mates, his eyes locking into the perusing male, the leader huffed out a large breath and charged at the male, usually, Scowler would have been a little forgiving - offering a warning. However, this time, he toppled the male aggressively roaring, swinging his horns in challenge, the message clear either challenge him or back the fuck off.

Oceana and Trics stayed away from most males, the pair of females ending up being chased by a young male from the other herd, Oceana seemed fine, but Trics was clearly starting to grow tired after some time of trotting ahead of the young male.

Scowler watched as the other herd started to mingle with his own, unlike he usually would, the large male didn't move to stop this, unwilling to get into a fight with the other leader, he would win of course, only to receive more bodies, his herd was already quite large.

Oceana and Trics worked together to make sure the hatchlings would make the journey, both females always staying close and keeping up with Scowler, Trics huffing when she constantly had to chase Spike around.

Scowler had pushed back the migration back several months, waiting for all the hatchings to be able to handle the long walk, even so, Scowler had stopped frequently to allow everyone a chance to rest. The oversized herd finally came to a stop at the large clearing, Scowler grunted as he noticed another herd occupying the space - although this wasn't uncommon. Scowler wasn't able to go looking for a fight - he intended to watch his mates in case any males approached them. He also kept an eye out for patchy, worried his son might be targeted.

The females were quiet as they grazed, keeping their eyes on the hatchlings.
