Dim Light (Stormwind)

Swiftstream frowned and used a paw to push him away, hurt both by the way he’d hurt her and the way he was acting like it didn’t matter.

“Sorry,” Riverstar Mewed quickly, dropping her tail. “Maybe I can make it feel better?” The tom suggested with a purr, not waiting for her response before standing over her and beginning to cover her face in affectionate licks.

Swiftstream squirmed in his grasp, hissing softly with pain. “Riverstar, that hurts.”

Riverstar purred, biting the base of her tail and dragging her with a playful smirk, acting like he was taking a large piece of fresh-kill back to the pile.

Puddlepaw And Spottedpelt were happy to finally get away from Rainstorm, staying close to one another and gossiping quietly in the clearing.

Swiftstream squawked in surprise and pain when Riverstar landed on her tail, being jerked to a halt a sigh her tail was abruptly yanked on. 

Soon the camp can’t into sight and Rainstorm led them into it, separating from the two as soon as he could.

Puddlepaw shut up then, though his paws itched for when the group would arrive back at camp.

Riverstar flung himself at Swiftstream, trying to pin the She-cat’s tail before she pulled too far away for him to catch up.

Rainstorm bristled slightly and snapped angrily, “We’re not done with the patrol until we get back to camp! You can gossip when we’re back in camp!”

Swiftstream laughed, increasing her speed to keep ahead of her mate. She’d always been faster than him.

Puddlepaw And Spottedpelt followed closely, though it wasn’t long before the pair were smirking at one another again.  

“So...” Puddlepaw eventually ventured.  “Is it true?”  He references his earlier question with a soft, mischievous purr.

Riverstar’s paws thudded against the earth of the clearing as he followed after Swiftstream, tearing after her quickly as he chased his mate down.

Rainstorm led the way back to the camp. 

Swiftstream made sure to keep just out of her mate’s reach as the two played a playful game of tag across the camp.

Riverstar bounded after her with kitlike energy, his dark blue eyes glowing bright.

Spottedpelt nodded, turning her back to the trail and glancing over her shoulder one last time in case she could catch a sight of the rogue.

Puddlepaw shuffled on his paws, impatient and ready to head back.

Swiftstream swiped at his face with her paw before bounding out of his reach. 

Rainstorm nodded. “Well, we finished our patrol before looking for him so it’s time to go back to camp.”

Riverstar laughed, pressing up against Swiftstream and continuing to tease her ears with his tail and his paws.

Spottedpelt finally lifted her head. “I think he’s left the territory.” She finally concluded, glancing across the invisible border line to the land beyond.

Swiftstream barged his paw away. “Noooo.”

Rainstorm waited.

Riverstar, upon discovering that Shadowleaf was nowhere to be found, returned to Swiftstream’s, teasingly pawing at her ears once he arrived back at her side.

“Of course.” Spottedpelt Replied, following the scent all the way up to the border.

Shadowleaf didn’t seem to be in the camp. She and Graycloud had gone on a hunting patrol. 

Rainstorm nodded. “If he’s left then we leave him alone and report it to Riverstar.”

“It seems like it goes all the way,” Spottedpelt muttered to the patrol, lifting her head to look towards the Dimclan scent markers. “It’s just a few more steps to make sure.”

Riverstar sought out Shadowleaf, padding around the clearing to look before peeking in the nursery.

After several minutes of this, Rainstorm started growing impatient again as they neared the border.

Spottedpelt soon became sure of the direction the trail lead, following it. She started right at one open end of the log and continued slowly, keeping her head low to the ground to ensure she didn’t miss a single smell.

Rainstorm padded after Spottedpelt, flicking his tail as he scanned their surroundings, keeping an eye out just in case anything came after them while they thought the Clan cats were distracted.

After a while, Spottedpelt glanced up from her work. “I think I found something!” The she-cat began to follow what she thought was the loner’s scent trail, not sure where it would lead, if anywhere.

Puddlepaw stood up and followed after Spottedpelt.

Rainstorm waited patiently; well, patiently for him, anyway.

(Ok. You started using it so I got confused. )

Spottedpelt bounded back over to the log and began to scent the area, standing in different spots around the loner’s home to see if she could pick up on a trail.

(They don’t know his name, I think)

Rainstorm frowned. “Is there a trail you can follow so that we know he left the territory?”
