Cretatous Survival (Ash)

Scowler had to force himself to a drastic halt that seemingly almost tipped the male over, grunting with anger as the female blocked his path he snorted aggressively, “move” he ordered, disallowing the female to stand between his mate and himself. Evidently, the large trike wasn’t used to being stood up to, nor stopped, and it seemed he would be willing to put himself between whatever hurt Trics if that be the case, with little care to his own well-being.

The female tried to stop the male, standing in front of him, "Maybe... Something got her?" She whimpered softly, worried the male would hurt himself.

Scowler was becoming increasingly more agitated as he failed to find his mate near the lake, his large form making a loud ruckus as he continued to charge around, calling for her.

The female frowned as she followed, she thought she had spotted footprints in that direction, but maybe that was from the pair when they were going to the cave?

In Scowler's frantic attempts to call his mate, he hadn't even considered an explanation so logical as the one the female had given him. Nodding as he started to make his way down to the water, the large male posing a large risk to anyone who stopped him, moving at quite a dangerous speed.

The female jerked back as the male became frantic, tilting her head and she examined the cave, not seeing anyone there, she walked toward the male, trying to relax him, "Maybe she was thirsty?" She asked quietly.

Scowler grunted a bit broodingly at the female, annoyed that she hadn't just continued on her way, while upon initial introduction, the large trike might have simply seemed aggressive and moody with a bad temperament, however, upon further knowledge, it would become clear that this was simply the Trike's overall personality and not due to the person in any way. Scowler ignored her, in favor of walking into the cave, only to find Trics not there. He roared his anger, but was mostly just worried for his mate, charging out of the cave, barely missing the female, calling to Trics frantically.

"That's nice of you to make sure she's okay" She cooed and continued following the male, her tail flicking and she paced ahead a bit, looking around and spotting the cave, "Is that where she is?" She asked.

Scowler looked back at the female for a moment, "If you follow the stream up you'll find them..." he instructed her, getting closer to the cave that Trics was in, "My mate's injured, i'm waiting with her until she's strong enough for the journey" he informed the female.

"So I'm not that far then" She got excited, finally getting close to the herd, the female was small, but still larger than Trics, she kept pace with the male and looked around, "Why are you not with the herd?" She asked curiously.

Scowler inhaled as the female closed the distance between them, going rigid for a moment as he tried to contain the instinct he had to mount the small female then and there. He hit the dirt with his foot, "They've left for the breeding grounds..." he grunted out with effort, forcing himself not to turn around, thinking about Trics as he walked toward the cave still.

The female spotted the male and she perked up, starting to follow him, "Wait! How close is the herd?" She asked as she followed, catching up to the large male, oblivious to the scent of her heat as she got close to him.

Scowler at first didn't notice the female, his sight set on the small dryosaurus that he had no chance of catching. Grunting eventually when he lost sight of it in a shrub, digging his horns into the ground aggressively and turning back around, only to snort in surprise at the female that was there. Although he didn't pay much interest, instead he headed back the way he'd come, eager to return to his mate.

Trics watched him and gave a sigh, she stood when she knew he was gone, starting to walk away, heading away from the migration path.

The female watched a dryosaur rush past her, raising a brow as she heard something loud incoming, turning to make a break for it.

Scowler grumbled irritably at the small creature, and for a moment it seemed like he was prepared to listen to his mate and settle down, until the creature wondered in further, which caused Scowler to roar and chase the animal out.

Trics watched her mate and gave a soft chuckle, "Scowler, its fine" She said softly, keeping her eyes on her mate.

A distance off, a female sighed as she tried catching up to the herd, she had gotten separated in an earthquake and only just managed to start catching ground.

(one job bahaha - if you wanted to add a bit of a plot, maybe Scowler leaves for a minute to get her some food or something, and when he returns she's gone, as in not in the cave anymore, maybe you could introduce a new female character, and then bring Trics back later? or open to other ideas )

Scowler nuzzled up to her, the large male however, turned his large head toward the entrance of the cave when he saw a young dryosaurus squeaking loudly, the large Trike wasn't found of the loud noise, that may alert larger predators.

(I got nothing lol)

Giving a small smile as she watched him, her tail lightly flicking.

Scowler stood, grunting at his mate lowly, moving over to her, and beginning to nuzzle her belly softly.

Trics stayed in the cave, nuzzling her mate and grooming him softly, slowly laying down in the cave.

Scowler eventually found a cave, ushering Trics inside protectively, before sitting with her, watching the caves entrance for any sign of danger.

She butted against him softly once she was standing again, she began walking, heading to the shallow part of the river to cross in hopes of finding somewhere safer.

Scowler nodded his agreement, but slightly halfheartedly, still too concerned about being attacked than he was worried about moving at the moment. Still, he gently aided his mate to her feet, and nudged her forward.

The female sighed, watching the herd get farther and farther away, "Maybe we should find somewhere less open to stay..." She murmured quietly.

Scowler nodded, trying to ease her worry, although knew this probably wouldn’t be the case. Serveral herds had just come together, no doubt the predators had been drawn, and were waiting to attack.
