Cretatous Survival (Ash)

Scowler roared and pulled the smaller male towards himself before twisting his own head and throwing the other male onto the ground with his horns. Scowler trotted a few metres away, then pointed his horns at the males stomach, before roaring and beginning to charge, scowler was running 10km/h and has such his speed was slowly increasing allowing the leader a few seconds to get up and move out of his way.

Trics rolled herself up with help and she got to her feet, holding her weight off one of her back legs where a puncture wound from a horn was, she jolted as she heard the clash of horns and she looked over, seeing the male with her brother.

The leader let out a grunt at the impact and tried to push back against the larger male, pulling back slightly before slamming his head back toward the other male's, locking their horns.

Scowler didn't have time to help trics get the male off for the second time, as he was being charged. He roared and started running towards the alpha, his frill ready for an impact and his horns ready to achieve a kill. He grunted at the impact, starting to use his massive amount of strength and weight to push the alpha backwards.

Trics let out a pained noise as she was forced to the ground, she tried to roll herself up onto her feet but the male thstbhad mounted her landed on her and she didn't have enough leverage to get him off.

Other males saw the struggle and they tried to help the female while her half brother charged at Scowler, letting out a loud challanging bellow at him.

Scowler rose to his back legs and slammed down, he paced for a minute or too before becoming more aggressive and charging at the male and trics. He managed to get up a fair speed, enough to crash into the males ribs and tear both him and trics to the ground. However, the male would have sustained majority of scowlers force.

Scowler trampled the male as he ran, continuing to run for a few meters before he turned and started charging at him again.

"Trics" She muttered with a mouth full of grass, most of the females spooked as two males started fighting, Trics' early heat caused young males to rut early and begin fighting over whatever fenale was in heat, one male even tried to come up and mount the female wheb her heat only got stronger.

The female let out a sound and she tried to break away from the larger male on her back, his weight adding to her own as she tried to move away, dispite being in heat she wasn't ready to mate just yet

Scowler chuckled lightly at her defensive display, he tormented her horns with his own, locking them together teasingly. "Call me scowler" he says with a chuckle, soon finding the title 'stranger' quite irritating. Once she turned back around he moved to graze somewhat next to her, though ahead so she could see him.

As she had stated it soon become apparent that she was in early heat due to the scent that was now surrounding him. He let out a few grunts, a clear indication that he'd smelt it.

The leader let out a growl like sound and he rose uo onto his hind legs before crashing down onto his front, glaring toward the new male as he chased the female.

The female was crazing silently before the male came up and butted her, she jerked and let out a snort, spjnning herself around and making shre her horns were between her and the male, "Don't get a y ideas stranger, just because I'm in heat early, doesn't mean you get to pick fights already, thats tomorrow" She snorted at him before turning back around to graze.

She in fact was in an early heat, and most males would be trying to mount her at that point, but with the larger strager there, the males started to stay away from her, realizing that the female would be easily won tomorrow.

Scowler got to his feet slowly when he saw the alpha making his way over, he stood his ground as the still nameless female spoke to him but riled up when the alpha spoke. Knowing they were a fair distance away from the herd, scowler snorted and in a dominant display he let out an ear piercing roar to assert his dominace. After which he followed right after the female that the alpha obviously had set his eyes on just to rile him.

Scowler knew if the alpha was mad enough he'd challenge him, or maybe even try to simply banish him from the herd. Either way scowler would fight him, but usually those battles would take place a few hours before the females were in heat.

Scowler chuckled and trotted behind the female, having caught up easily. He pureposely hit her butt with his frill, managing not to hit her with his horns.

The female was about to speak up again when her half brother snorted from behind her and started to chase her back to the herd, the small female spun herself around and smacked her frill against her brother's, making him back down a bit.

She knew why he was getting more protective, their mating rituals started tomorrow, and even though they were partially related, the male clearly wanted the female for himself.

"You should stay, maybe have some sensible males in this herd" She snorted before trotting off to the herd, disappearing within the group of mostly females.

"Stay away from her, she's mine stranger" The leader snorted and glared toward Scowler.

Scowler grunted, and moved let to right he wasn't allowing the female any means of escape, "I assure you, you'll be in no danger from me. He tilted his head up and moved to his back legs were he placed his front legs on the large tree which bent and strained under his weight. He ripped some vegetation off the tree and landed loudly.

Scowler continued to grunt and wave his head about showing off for the small female, he was careful with his foot placements, his eyes steadily on her. He knew the female could out run him, so he didn't venture too close, instead he remained still for the most part exept for slight grazing. Willing her to relax around him, he had meant what he said about not hurting her, it was instict to protect any female whom he saw as strong enough to bare his children.

Scowler laid down with a heavy thump, his head still elevated as he scouted for any sign of danger.

The female flicked her tail lightly and she turned her head a bit toward the male, eyeing him for a few seconds before she continued her grazing, other males in the herd were shocked that she didn't just move away from the large male like she normally did with them.

She kept one eye on him and watched his little show, she was quite impressed with this male, he looked much stronger than even her half brother, she allowed the male to approach but if he did get too close for her liking she stepped away.

"I'm safe here, I can get away if a carnivore comes out of the trees" Came her gentle voice, "Though I assume the most danger here now, is you stranger" She said and let her head rise, watching the male with both eyes now, her body language responding positively to his calls and show.

She knew this male would being strong hatchlings, stronger than other males in the herd could ever sire, she now wondered, if this male would stay long enough to reproduce with a female, and if he did, she would want him to sire her hatchlings.

Scowler was pleased that the other male wasn't intent to fight. He moved towards the herd further and even went as far as to move at his slow pace past the leader which he seemed to be bigger than. Scowlers eyes moved amongst the large ish herd, his eyes falling on a few females that his insticts told him would produce strong offspring. Soon she was grazing, moving towards the one female that hadn't seemed to taken a intrest to.

As he approached he let out soft calls followed by powerful waves of his colourful frill in an attempt to impress her. "You shouldn't be wondering so far from the heard" he says in a tone that was both dominate and accusing. He continued to move his head dispite his words still trying to gain her approval.

He once again reared up on his back legs and let himself fall, showing the nameless female his strength, he followed this with serval soft calls to her.

Most of the herd jolted as they heard the boom of the large male crashing his front legs into the ground, Trics' half brother spotted the male and snorted, letting out a responce to say he wasn't looking to fight, just yet, quite a few smaller males looked to the large stranger and wondered about him.

One set of eyes was locked onto the stranger, Trics, she saw the male and with their mating season nearing fast, females were looking for the best males to keep their eyes on, the young female took the distraction to be able to wander a bit away from the herd while grazing, keeping an eye on the stranger.

The young female wondered what that male was going to do while he was here, join them? Take over the herd? Or just graze with them for a bit before leaving again? Only the stranger knew what he was going to do.

Scowler moved at a sluggish pace across a large open field, if he needed to he could run from any predator he couldn't face, but for now he grazed absentmindedly and headed in the direction he'd smelt a herd. His footsteps were loud and cocky as he walked, his head swinging side to side as he showed off a colourful frill and large horns.

It wasn't long because he spotted the herd and came within eye-sight of them, he didn't act aggressively but he did rise up on his back legs and slam back down to make his presence known. He started trotting moving somewhat quickly, had he been smaller he had no doubt the leader would challenge him. But because scowler wasn't acting too aggressively he doubted a brawl would commence.

Scowler let out a series of low grunts that really were a warning for the leader, he was in no mood to fight but would willingly if the leader responded aggressively.

Trics raised her head and huffed when a group of young males from her herd raced toward her, she currently wasn't in the mood for males, she just wanted to eat! The young female snorted and trotted away from the group of males who eventuamly gave up on her yet again. Trics ended up near the trees outlining the clearing the herd was currently in, the female triceratops started to nibble on the foliage in peace, but she kept a constant eye out for danger since she was so close to the trees.

It wasn't long before the leader of her herd, who happened to be a half brother, roughly chased her back to the herd, poking at her with his horns to make her move, she let out a snort and was just a head of her half brother before he let her run back to the herd, she constantly angered him by being too far from the herd all the time.
