Cretatous Survival (Ash)

Scowler eventually made it to the herd, although collapsed on the outskirts. He was bleeding heavily thanks to a large gash in his side and a bite on his back. Although he was alive.

Oceana whimpered as when the herd finally settled for the night, she still hadn't seen her mate, worried deeply for him.

Scowler continued to defend the back of the herd, although quickly was separated, the large trike doing his best to defend himself, although roared out when his side was scratched deeply. Scowler whirled around managing to catch one of them, puncturing it's leg, before moving to catch up with the herd. His injury slowing him down.

Oceana whined as she was pushed along the way, looking back often.

Scowler nodded to his son, "make sure she goes with them" he ordered, before turning his back on the both of them, moving to the back of the herd, just in time to chase a carnotaurus off a young trike.

"But Scowler" Oceana was trying to protest when Patchy gave her a soft shove to get her to move.

"Don't be stupid" Patchy snorted to his father.

"Patchy" Scowler moved toward his son, "Take Oceana and go with the herd" he demanded, turning to knock a male trike away, in his haste to get away from the predictors, he'd almost run straight into Oceana.

Oceana followed her mate closely, spotting her mate's offspring coming toward them, she snorted when she saw the three carnivores, "They aren't that beast..." She whimpered.

"It's alright" he assured, instructing the herd to begin to move slowly, Scowler still wasn't sure if the dinosaur was as big as Oceana remembered but he was unwilling to risk it. Nudging her to move toward the herd, looking around for Patchy as three carnotaurus moved out from the trees.

She pressed close and gave a whimper, "It was bigger than the trees... Big enough to throw a male your size like we can throw a stick" She whimpered, trembling softly.

Scowler looked to Oceana for a moment, "do you remember what it looked like?" he asked, eager to know what they were dealing with, "stay close" he ordered.

The female jolted up as she heard the roar, her eyes wide, "That sounds like that beast... But it isn't the same..." She murmured, staying close to Scowler.

Scowler chuckled and moved over to his mate, looking up when he heard a roar, echoing throughout the open space. Scowler looked to his mate trying to identify the carnivore, while it didn't sound that large, if it was small, no doubt there would be several. Scowler roared out to alert the herd.

The female woke when she felt him move, looking up and letting out a yawn.

Scowler nuzzled into Oceana, breathing in her scent heavily, finding himself addicted to it. Eventually, the large male stood, and started to graze around her, unwilling to walk away.

Oceana stayed with the male, sleeping softly, waking off and on.

Patchy was on the other side of the clearing with Ivy, the pair laying together in the shade.

Scowler opened his eyes briefly when his new mate laid down, allowing himself to relax with the knowledge that she was close to him. Still, aware of what had happened to Trics, Scowler was still watching the entire herd carefully, ensuring no one was causing any problems. He also searched around for Patchy ever few minutes.

Oceana laid with her mate, laying her head on his side and she let out a long breath, closing her eyes to sleep.

Scowler looked doubtful for a second before the large male nodded and allowed himself to lay down: with his mate in no danger and the herd settling the trike was eager to rest after the long trip. Setting his large head down, beginning to snore lightly.

"I'm alright Scowler, I'll let you know if I need anything" She said softly and nuzzled the male.

"Are you hungry?" he asked, rubbing against her, "Need me to get you anything?" the large male had already adopted the notion that the female was carrying his offspring.

Oceana pushed hard against him, chuckling and softly backing off, rubbing against him softly.

Scowler chuckled at her words, pushing a little harder, although the male seemed unwilling to use any more force than this. He rubbed his horns against her lovingly, realising how much he was falling for her.

She returned his rumbles while she pushed against him, letting out a soft snort, pushing hard against him, "You don't need to be that soft" She cooed softly.

Scowler pushed against her gently, but enough to hurt her, but enough to show off how strong he could be if he wanted to. Giving off a series of low rumbles, in an affectionate kind of way.
