The Start of Us (Bacon)

Emily sighed and she put the parts into the car that she had grabbed, "Now, hopefully I can get this thing started" She said and got in the driver's seat.

He turned on his heels, fallowing his sister to the car. As they approached it, he shut the gas tank lid.

"Charlee... Let's go, I got the parts" She said flatly while starting to walk toward the car they had found, staying emotionless, she knew if she had snapped and broke down, her brother would be worse.

Charlee covered his ears and hung his head, refusing to make any sort of eye contact as his sister's beloved dog was ripped to shreds, knowing it was his fault. He turned away, dragging his feet as he walked back into the building, guilt resting uncomfortably in his stomach

Emily slid to a stop as she got outside, she held her arm out to stop her brother as she sighed, Bruiser had lured Clickers to him and it was too late, Emily watched with an emotionless face as her beloved dog was ripped apart by the Clickers, all her memories with the dog went through her mind as his pained howls slowly stopped, she had gotten Bruiser as a present from their parents after she had gotten quite sick and was stuck in the hospital, Bruiser had brought her out of her sickness.

He shut the door, darting down the halls of the building with his sister, looking for something to jump down and cut off the fleeing dog. Charlee hoped that the dog would be too exhausted to run very far.

Bruiser growled and darted out of the room when he got the chance, "Charlee, let me go, it's fine now" Emily sighed, "Fuck! You let go of Bruiser!" She snapped and yanked herself away from him, starting to run after her dog as he ran out of the building.

Charlee flung open the door without a second thought, grabbing his sister by the shoulders and attempting to drag her into the room.

The groans of a runner sounded outside the door while Emily's grunts could be heard, "Bastard!" Emiky yelled and pushed the runner off her, she yelped when another runner came up but she quickly threw her machete at the farther one, the closer one turned and gave her the chance to grab it's head and snap it's neck, killing both runners.

Charlee quietly whistled for Bruiser, the smile he got from seeing the dig disappeared as he walked to the door, pressing his ear against it..

Bruiser sniffed everywhere in the room, his tail swayed and he actually seemed like a normal dog, until a crach was heard outside the room and the dog growled.

He walked inside and locked the door, sitting in a corner and bringing his knees to his chest, letting go of Bruiser's leash so he could wander the room

The dog huffed and walked inside, his ears flicking.

Charlee cracked open the door, peeking inside.

Bruiser sniffed around and lead his master's brother through the building to safety, finding a room with no windows but a singular door that had locks on it from the inside.

Knowing his sister had speed and endurance, he grabbed the white dog's leash and bolted, looking up at a building. He opened the door, watching Bruiser to see if he smelled turned.

Emily continued making noise so the runners would target her, "Get somewhere they wont get you!" She screamed at her brother while she started running, "I'll find you! Keep Bruiser with you no matter what!" She yelled as she rounded a corner with the runners behind her.

Charlee opened his left eye at the noise, "Hey, Emmie, you ok- OH SHIT!" he cursed as he saw the runners, well, running at his sister.

She quickly went around and tried to find the parts they needed, she had left Bruiser with her brother, so he had more protection, suddenly, runners started coming out of the woodwork and instantly the older sibling started making noise so they'd come at her and not her brother, even if he was immune, he could still get an infection and possibly die from the bites.

Charlee smiled, for once happy he had to stay. Cars never really interested him, he preferred animals and nature rather than mechanics. He leaned against the car door, humming quietly.

She peeked out from in the motor and she looked at the stick, "Amazing, full tank of gas, now, we just need a new battery and a couple spark plugs, also another cap, stay with the car while I look" She told her brother while she closed up the hood of the car, not even bothering to rub the grease off her face and hands.

He felt the stick hit the bottom of the tank, then pulled it out. The stick had been slicked with gas up most of its length.

"As soon as the stick hits the bottom of the tank pull it out" She told him while digging around the the engine, luckily for them she had been working for a car shop before the outbreak.

He took a moment to find a stick, before back to Emily. He popped open the gas intake and stuck a stick inside, sticking his tongue out slightly in concentration, looking rather cute.

"Its safe, now lets see if it hasnt been scrapped" She said as she started checking the engine, "Open the gas intake and stick a stick inside to check how much gas is left" She told him.
