She shrugged and moved over to her bunk, picking up a book along the way.

Eventually Felix got up and moved over to the computer in the male cabin, which had been unoccupied for a while. Smiling to himself at the prospect, he set to work downloading some music, not exactly a quick and easy process considering their location.

She got dressed again and stepped out of the shower, looking around the mostly-empty cabin.

The man laid back on his bunk luxuriously, stretching out and managing to doze off a bit.

She eventually finished cleaning her wings and stepped out of the shower, toweling herself off and then carefully drying her feathers.

Felix finished his shower quickly and slipped into a hoodie and a pair of sweatpants, hoping he wouldn’t have to leave his bunk again for the rest of the day as he laid down, tired.

Alana winced as she accidentally pulled out some of her fluffy down feathers. “Ow,” she hissed softly.

Felix’s shower was a bit less simple. The man had to work hard to comb some of the small twigs out of his fur that had turned his pelt into a matted mess, and some of them were painful to finally work out.

Alana carefully cleaned her wings, letting the water run over them and running her fingers through the feathers, picking out the things that the water did not knock loose.

As Felix showered himself as well, needing to use the special bottle of shampoo meant for animals, he wished desperately that he could be a POC.

The Point of Contact was a mutant that looked mostly normal, and got to go into areas populated by non-mutants to go shopping for whatever the commune couldn’t produce on its own. Felix had always wished to be one, but knew that his spotted fur gave him little to no chance at blending in.

Alana quickly turned on the shower and stripped out of her clothes, stepping underneath the water.

Felix found himself relegated to the smallest shower, everything else already occupied.

Alana entered the cabin and made her way towards the largest shower, which she frequently made use of, needing to with her large wings.

Felix glanced at his fur and decided a shower couldn’t hurt, walking back to the male Big Cabin to do just that.

She huffed and headed off towards the Female Big Cabin, determined to clean her wings.

Felix spotted Alana analyzing her predicament and self consciously turned to run his tongue over his own shoulder a few times, noting the similarly unclean state.

Alana pulled one of her wings around to her front and gazed at the twigs, bark, and leaves stuck in between the feathers mournfully.

Felix simply flung the log in the direction of the tree line once it was out of the tangle of wooden logs that had once made up the destroyed cabin.

“True,” Alana hummed softly, picking up the other end and helping the older mutant to carry it out of the way.

“At the very least I suppose whatever logs we can’t reuse in a new cabin will be good for firewood.” The man shrugged, wrapping his furry hands around their lever log to pull it free.

Alana inspected herself, nodded once she found she was fine, and headed back towards the logs.

Felix’s eyes locked on Alana once he was safe, making sure the winged girl was also safe as the tree came to a crashing stop where the pair of them had just been standing. Now, it was just a matter of getting their lever out of the way, and they were done with their task.

Alana practically bolted to get out of the way, not having the speed and reflexes of Felix.
