We’re On An Adventure (Stormwind)

Eventually, after several long hours, Lady returned to the den, snagging a scrawny mouse along the way. It was well into the afternoon, almost evening, by this point.

(Edit: HmmmMMM, what if Lady decides to make Newton feel better by giving him a blowjob?)

The tom felt his energy being slowly sapped away just by being awake, and he lifted his head only to scowl at his infected wounds. why did this have to happen!?

Lady forcefully dragged her thoughts away from Newton, making herself think of anything but him as she walked.

Newton just wallowed in frustration and confusion. Lady wanted a life with the clans so bad and yet stuck around for him! Why?

Lady stood up and walked away from the water-filled ditch, hoping that an actual walk would clear her head and her heart before she had to return to Newton. He couldn't take care of or defend himself at the moment, so she couldn't leave him alone for too long. The former kittypet prowled through the forest, light on her paws. She inwardly marveled at how familiar the wilds had become, how easily hunting for her own food came to her now, over the course of the past couple of moons since they'd left the town.

Newton was able to eat about three-quarters of the prey. That was more than he had managed since getting injured, and it was entirely for Lady. Sighing, the wounded tom laid his head down and wondered what to do. He knew his feelings for her had... developed. But what would happen when they got to the clans? While she had always seen trees and a forest in her dreams, he’d always been confronted by rolling hills and great grasslands. Did that mean they had different destinies?

Lady bared her fangs in an unhappy expression. She hated the way her feelings had gotten so muddled since she and Newton had left on their journey. She almost missed her life as a kittypet, if only because everything had seemed so simple and clear then.

Newton tried to take a few more bites, if only for Lady. It was impossible to agree with the truth- the She-cat was easily the most important cat in his life. It had always been that way, of course, given the way he grew up. But now... it was a little different somehow.

Lady didn't go far, sitting down next to the ditch that had been the cause of their troubles. Even now, a quarter moon after the disastrous storm, it was still half filled with water. She sighed softly, staring down at the brown, muddy water. Her emotions were a mess even to the young tabby, but the one thing she knew was that Newton was quite possibly the most important cat/thing in her life.

Newton picked at his prey, still blushing even after lady left.

Lady abruptly deflated as the anger left her. "Just.. finish your prey. I'm going to go on a walk." She swiftly vanished from the den.

Newton shut up, a little sheepish and even blushing under his fur despite his sickly state.

Lady didn’t seem to notice the tom’s change in tone, continuing in her mini-rant. “No matter what you say I’m not leaving you,” she growled, cutting off anything he might have said. “So you should stop trying.”

Newton pinned his ears back, a little frightened by her harsh tone but at the same time left speechless by this admission. All that she’d been through to get to where they were... and she cared more about him? “Lady...” The tom mewled weakly, emotionally.

"I don't care!" Lady snapped, breathing heavily with anger, her pelt fluffed out. "You're more important to me than making it to the Clans!"

Newton growled softly. “If you stay here then neither of us are going to make it there!”

Lady bristled, back arching and ears pinning back. “You wouldn’t survive if I left you like this! I’m not leaving you!”

“You know what I mean,” Newton huffed in exasperation. “Go to the clans and get help. If I don’t make it until you get back... maybe that’s just fate.”

Lady’s pelt fluffed out in indignation. “I will not!” She yelped. “You’re my best friend, Newton. How could you ever think I would leave you behind? I won’t. Never,” she said fiercely, lashing her tail. She glared at the older tom, green eyes flashing. “If I’m going to reach the Clans, it will be with you. I’m not going to leave you to die.”

“You really should just go on to the clans without me.” The tom mewled grimly, closing his eyes and covering his muzzle with his paws as he pushed his nose into the earth beneath him.

Lady looked up from grooming her paws and muzzle. “Yes, Newton?” She asked curiously, tilting her head to the side.

Newton soon laid his head down again with a sigh. “Lady...” he mewled after a moment.

Lady gave him a narrow-eyed look for the uneaten rest of the mouse, but started to eat her vole. It only took a few bites, with how scrawny it was.

It took some effort, but eventually Newton swallowed down his bite, having to lick his chops for a moment afterwards to have something to focus on besides the sensation of his food sliding down his throat. He glanced expectantly to Lady then, laying his own head down to rest it while she ate.

By this point, Lady had also established in Newton the fact that she wouldn’t eat until he did, so she watched him and didn’t move to touch her own meal despite her grumbling stomach.
