The Mixed Dragonets (Fireblaze)

Pitch looked on scared. "What's happening?" he whimpered, and he began backing away. Quickly, he motioned for Rain to follow, and he led her to a tiny hole in the wall that hid a moderately sized cavern within.

Rain blinked in confusion, looking towards the cave entrance. She watched as the IceWing stood, tail lashing slightly as he listened before saying to the dragonet's, "Hide. Go. Don't let them find you." With that he slowly creaped out of the cave, looking calm.

The next day, as the sun began stretching towards the horizon to set, Pitch was playing with his sister casually, bouncing back and forth. He growled and swiped at her until his ears perked when he heard the sound of wings beating air. Pausing in his play, he perked his ears and turned around. "Do you hear that?"

(Yup! Pretty much all we have to do is save the queens but there's a plot twist! Gonna keep it quiet for now.)

(Sure! So, since we began this in October, let me get it straight. An attack happens, the protector dies but the cubs escape, and then we wing it from there?)

The Rain/Sea-wing smiled slightly, nuzzeling her brother when their protector was turned around. She quickly soon got into eatting the rabbit happily.

(Timeskip to when the attack is about to happen?)

Pitch smiled when he received the rabbit, and he looked over at his sister. "I love you," he whispered, barely audible, meant just for her to hear. "You'll always be my sis." He then bent down and began to hungrily tear into the rabbit.

Rain blinked in serious confusion before listening to the IceWing chuckle and say, "Of course. It's over here." He grabbed a rabbit for each and gave one to each of them.

Pitch wiggled out of the Icewing's jaws and went over to give his sister an apologetic nuzzle, breathing in her scent. Turning to their protector, he made his eyes grow wide in a cute way. "Could we have some food?"

Smiling slightly, the IceWing picked up the small Nightwing and brought him inside the cave, just in time to see that Rain had walked out of the river.

He continued nuzzling his leg, muttering a quiet, shy "Sure," though he didn't make any move to walk back in. He secretly hoped the big dragon would carry him in.

The Icewing chuckled, watching the young male dragonet nuzzle his leg. The older dragon looked at the sky before saying, "Shall we go back inside?"

He glared at him, then felt his eyes soften. "I...uhh, thank you, I guess." Embarrassed, he trotted over and tentatively nuzzled the larger dragons leg.

He chuckled at this, dark eyes gleaming happily. "I won't tell anyone that you admitted you were wrong."

Pitch jumped in the air when he saw the dragon emerge from nowhere. "I...oh, you heard that," he ducked his gaze down and shuffled his paws.

(Boop)

The Icewing looked towards the male dragonet, surprised but didn't show it. Looking back forward, he knew the dragonet didn't know he was there. He quickly sat up, making sure the Nightwing saw him before saying calmly, "I forgive you."

He watched at the dragon flew off, and guessed he was going somewhere else for either a long time or forever. As he sat in the cave alone, he began to feel the darkness pressing in on him, so he went to the entrance of the cave and sat down unknowingly close to the Icewing dragon. As he sat there, he suddenly became aware of how unprepared he was to survive in the world, and how selfish he had been towards his sister. "I'm sorry," he whispered, knowing that it was probably too late to apologize to the dragon.

The Icewing growled softly before standing, making Rain lay alone now. With that the dragon took off, his wings beating yo cut off the fire and any other light there was. With that he took off to the outside, sitting at the cave entrance but well hidden. Rain just turned and glared at her brother, not saying anything before going towards the pool like water in the cave and going under water, not leaving.

He sneered. "Welcome to the world. And what, are you trying not to curse around us? I have one thing to say to that." He leaned forward towards the big dragon. "Fuck you. Fuck your cave. And screw your kindness. I don't need it"

"Well... it was that and also the fact that...." He glanced away as he thought, before returning the small dragonet's gaze. "You are apart of something bigger than you think. You are apart of something that may just save the Queens of all the dragons. I volunteered to take care of you because everyone else are big... they're just rude."

Pitch looked at Rain compassionately, then turned to the Icewing threateningly. "Then why did you take us in? Don't tell me it was from the goodness of your heart. I won't believe you if you do." He felt himself tremble as he spoke, looking up into the Icewing's eyes. He wanted to believe everything he was saying was a lie.

The Icewing murmured, "Your parent's gave you up NightWing, and the Rainwing-Seawing mix parent's were dead when we found her egg." He hated to admit it, but it was true. It wasn't pleasant either. Rain however blinked in surprise, soaking it in for a few seconds.

He ran forward to stand in between the Icewing and his sister. "For all we know, he stole us, or he as the one that murdered our real parents! He could just be trying to win our trust so he can use us." He said the words without caring that the large dragon was right beside him.

"He brought us food though... and hasn't tried to hurt us..." Rain murmured, she knowing that she could possibly get Pitch to trust the Icewing also.
