Cretatous Survival (Ash)

Scowler was doing his best to control his temper, in the end scowler grunted a ‘fine’ before moving away - scowlers inability to mourn was causing his emotions to get the better of him, even so the attack on his herd and his mate refusing to eat was putting a lot of stress on the male.

"I'm not hungry" Trics said plainly, glancing toward Scowler, continuing to frown.

Scowler turned to Trics in annoyance snorting, the male looked like he was about to grow angrier but he backed down frowning, “please eat something baby”

Oceana backed off slightly as she listened to Scowler, sighing softly to herself.

Trics frowned as she listened to the male, "I'm allowed to not be hungry" Trics huffed out, "I can eat whenever I want" She gave a small snort.

Scowler growled warningly at Trics, the large male believing that she was being quite selfish, “you can’t stop eating” he growled.

Trics just laid where she had stopped, laying her head on the ground, "I'm okay Scowler" She said quietly.

Oceana finally rounded the hatchlings up after tiring them out, the hatchlings curling up and sleeping, the female walked toward Scowler, nuzzling him softly.

After a few hours of walking scowler roared to halt the herd with a yawn, “get some rest and eat something baby” the trike has noticed her not eating.

She rested her head against his shoulder as they walked, usually while walking Trics would pick at the grasses below them, but she hadn't eaten much at all, she wasn't hungry, or at least, she didn't feel hungry.

Scowler nuzzled her lovingly and continued to walk with her.

Trics continued walking and she kept her head low, sighing softly, "I'm okay" She murmured, looking to her mate briefly.

Scowler grunted warningly at the female, snorting angrily but sticking with Trics, nuzzling her gently, “are you okay?”

Trics brushed against Scowler often, whimpering as they walked, she flinched back when another female trotted ahead, bumping into Trics, the speedy female agitated with Trics' slow speed.

Scowler continued to walk with his mate, rubbing against her every few minutes.

Trics whimpered as they walked, hanging her head and sighing.

Scowler frowned, nudging her softly, "He stayed to protect his mate...there was nothing any of us could have done without putting ourselves in danger" he told her.

"But... He's gone Scowler... All that time.. I kept him safe while we waited for you... I couldn't help..." She whimpered quietly.

Scowler frowned and nuzzled her gently "it's going to be okay baby"

Oceana huffed softly as she chased after the hatchlings, letting her mates stay together.

Trics pressed against Scowler, giving a quiet whimper.

Scowler nodded and instead walked with Trics, nuzzling her comfortingly often.

Oceana looked to Scowler, sighing softly, "They're fine Scowler, you stay here, I'll keep them together" She said as she moved toward the male.

Scowler watched his mates and their hatchlings closely, growing annoyed at how often the younger hatchlings got caught up with other trike's, Scowler chasing them around and back to their mothers each time. He could tell the other trike's in the group were growing annoyed at being charged at by him, so they'd started walking a little further away.

Trics was slow to get moving, Oceana ending up pushing the other female off and on, just to make sure she stayed moving.

Scowler watched her stand, "it's going to be okay baby" before his mate could change her mate, Scowler roared to get the herd moving, but he stuck close to Trics and Oceana this time.

Trics finally gave in, giving a whine and she stood, looking toward where they came before she turned to follow her family, the female looking toward Scowler, her eyes seemed dull from the depression of losing their son.

Scowler watched the two females for a moment with a frown, giving Oceana a look for raising Trics' hopes, "Trics' we need to move, Patchy knows where we are heading" he growled, the male becoming more and more agitated at the idea of the herd being attacked again because of Trics' stubbornness. Had it been anyone else, the male would have simply moved the herd without them.
