She carried him until her legs buckled, and she let out a sharp breath as she fell to the ground with a sharp impacting sound, letting Sam roll away.

Blood dripped from his leg and mouth, and clearly from when he hit the tree he would get serious back problems.

Minutes after she awoke to see him knocked out against a tree, and not even thinking about it, she hauled him over her shoulders as she saw firefighters do, and carried him to safety.

He got thrown back and his back hit a tree hard, he yelped then passed out, falling limp.

A tremendous wave of heat and small shrapnel assaulted the pair when the remains lit up, and she felt herself get smashed into a tree, and the world went black.

He nodded and followed as fast as he could, limping badly.

She stiffened when she smelt gasoline fumes in the air. "C'mon," she said as calmly as she could manage, pushing and dragging him out of the wreckage, hobbling away quickly.

He got up with her help and he didn't put much weight on his bad leg, but he could stand.

"Hang in there," she grunted, ripping the metal pipe out in a single, swift motion. "I'll get us to safety," she leaned down and pulled him up onto his feet, hoping he could at least support his weight.

He punched a piece of metal beside him as she pulled the pipe from his leg, he had given a yell of pain and his hands shook from the pain, his breathing was also rapid.

"Here, I can move," she grunted, coming back to her senses. She shakily got to her feet and stumbled over to Sam, and began pulling at the pipe.

"For the most part, my leg is trapped by the damb seat and there's a pipe through it" He said and uncovered her more.

She awoke as he shifted the metal, and she groaned in pain. "Sam, can you move?" she asked, not yet having the energy to lift her head and look around.

He winced and did his best to begin uncovering her, still coughing.

She didn't reply as she was not able to. She was buried under a pile of warped metal, her face covered in scratches.

Moments after the crash, Sam moved a little but he gave a yell of pain, one of his legs had a pipe through it and it was being crushed by a pilot's seat, "You.. Okay?" He coughed out to her.

She screamed as the helicopter went down, and the world went white and silent as G forces beyond comprehension grasped them both as the helicopter impacted.

"Yeah I di-" He suddenly stopped as they began going down, on reflex because of his training he grabbed her, moving so he'd take more of the impact than her.

"Oh, so you really did the join the army..." she replied quietly before a loud crash sounded, and one of the pilots began yelling into his radio.

A roaring sound was heard like an explosion and the helicopter began spiraling down and out of control towards the side of a mountain.

"Nothing really, training mostly, getting deployed in a couple weeks" He said, glancing toward the pilots, "I think something is wrong with the rotor, I've heard this on the base before a plane goes down" He said blandly, most from their years of high school knew Sam was aiming for the army.

She pressed on even though he seemed to be daydreaming. "What've you been up to? You know, careers, dreams, love, all that good stuff." The rotor clicked again, and the pilots began to move around in the cockpit, though nothing was obviously wrong yet.

"Hmm? Oh, yeah, been a while" He said, still keeping an eye on where they were, not trying to seem like he was ignoring her.

She glanced up when she heard a little click in the rotors, but she just shrugged and finally decided to turn to Sam. "So uhh, Sam, it's been awhile, huh? Like 10 years ago in high school."

Sam watched where they were going the entire way, silently mapping out a way back to the main camp for when they needed to go back.

Zoey could barely hear anything due to the noise from the helicopter engine, and she used that as an excuse to not speak at all. She, along with some guy called Sam Wrights, were being dropped off in the wilderness.
