Hello Feline Friends

(Mmkay)

(She’s a Tawny-colored tabby with green eyes. She’s a bit small even for kits her age and has a crooked tail from where it got snapped in the two leg trap.)

Violetwing frowned but didn’t push, drawing her tongue over the kit’s ear.

(What does she look like?)

The She-kit shook her head softly. “I’ll wait to get it with my brothers and sisters!” Purred the female gleefully, butting her head against Violetwing’s forelegs affectionately.

Violetwing’s gaze saddened while Hazelpaw gasped a little in horror that she didn’t have a name. “I can give you a name now, if you like,” she offered, deciding not to mention that cats were supposed to have names from birth.

“Can you name me when the other kits get names?”  Mewled the smallest of the She-cats in the medicine den.  “I don’t know if my old momma named me, and if she did I don’t remember.” The she-kit smiled innocently, seemingly too naive to grasp how depressing that idea was.

Both she-cats purred back at the kit.

The She-kit squeaked happily, Licking Violetwing’s foreleg and then booping Hazelpaw’s nose with her own affectionately, a purr rattling the small feline’s entire body.

Violetwing nodded, a gentle smile on her muzzle. “Yes, I am.”

The She-kit gave a surprised squeak and stretched out to give Violetwing a happy lick. “A-Are you sure!?” Mewled the tiny kitten, her voice high.

Hazelpaw blinked down at the kit in bemusement. “She wanted to know if you’d be her Mama, too,” she said to Violetwing.

Violetwing blinked in surprise. What, really? She crouched down to be closer to the kit’s height. “I’d love to be your Mama.”

“Would you...” The she-kit began to ask before choking up and pressing her head against Hazelpaw’s forelegs. “Hazelpaw can tell you,” mewled the embarrassed she-cat, too afraid of being told no to ask wether Violetwing could be her momma.

Violetwing blinked at her sudden silence, tilting her head to the side.

Eventually, the kit looked back down at her paws, suddenly becoming rather nervous.

Violetwing smiled down at her, while Hazelpaw looked delighted at the compliment. “I hope so, too.” Her tone was a little sad and wistful as she remembered that the kits weren’t her mate’s.

“I hope your new kits are like Hazelpaw too.  She’s really nice.” Mewed the tiny kit, cocking her head to the side cutely as she looked between Violetwing and the apprentice.

Violetwing nodded, sitting down. “Yes, she is.”

“Wow!” The she-kit’s eyes remained wide as she looked Violetwing up and down. “Hazelpaw’s your kit too, right?”

Violetwing smiled in amusement at the kit, relieved that she was finally talking. “I suppose so, but it really means I’m going to have kits soon.”

The She-kit’s eyes widened at the sight of Violetwing’s bulging belly, having never seen a pregnant she-cat before. “Wow!” She mewed in naive wonderment, standing up shakily to pad up to the pair. “Hi!” She mewed cutely, a serious expression on her face as she looked up at the queen. “You ate a lot today!”

Hazelpaw came back after a few minutes with her heavily pregnant mother.

The small she-kit tucked her paws under her, looking towards the door of the medicine den a little anxiously as she waited for Hazelpaw to come back.

Hazelpaw got to her paws and headed off to find Violetwing.

The She-kit nodded excitedly, hoping with all her might that The she-cat wouldn’t be asleep when Hazelpaw checked.

Hazelpaw blinked. “If she’s not sleeping, sure. She’s gonna give me new siblings soon,” she added. “I can go get her?”
