Fallen Holly Leaves (Storm)

Fallen Leaves rubbed his cheek against hers. “Good. Because I found a place I want to take you to.”

Holly Leaves wilted a little, nodding. “She doesn’t want me to risk anything. It’s likely that I’ll be able to go out hunting with you all within the half-moon, though.” Vaguely, our of the corner of her eye, she noticed Jayfeather and Half Moon leaving the cave.

“I can imagine!” Replied Fallen Leaves enthusiastically, though he then tilted his head and looked at his mate with a little disappointment. “That’s as far as you’re allowed to go?”

Holly Leaves nodded, brightening. “I spent the morning sitting on a boulder just outside the cave. It was so nice feeling the fresh air again.”

Fallen Leaves glanced to Holly Leaves. “Did Rising Moon finally let you out today?”

Holly Leaves huffed a laugh. “Well, you’ll just have to get used to that, I’m afraid,” she said, though not without sympathy. She didn’t like having her paws frozen either.

“Busy,” Fallen Leaves huffed, pressing his side against his mate’s. “And I still can’t feel my paws,” added The dappled male with an exaggerated pout. The tom had been out hunting in the snow all morning, after all.

“Hey,” she murmured. “How was your morning?”

“Hey,” purred the tom loudly.

Holly Leaves nuzzled him back and licked his cheek with a purr.

Fallen Leaves greeted Holly Leaves with a happy purr, padding right up to his mate and nuzzling her lovingly.

Holly Leaves shrugged and padded over to her mate.

Fallen Leaves quickly finished his meal, looking around once he’d finished cleaning up after himself.

Holly Leaves swallowed her last bite and shoved the rest of the rabbit to Shy Fawn, giving the expectant she-cat a friendly nudge before padding away from her. She glanced around the camp, wondering what to do now.

Fallen Leaves gave a weary sigh as he glanced over at Holly Leaves, settling down to eat something by himself.

Unfortunately for Fallen Leaves, Holly Leaves was already sharing a rare rabbit with Shy Fawn by the time he came back.

Jayfeather watched Holly Leaves for another few moments as he talked to Half Moon.

Before long, Fallen Leaves returned to the cave, carrying a fair amount of prey for once.

Holly Leaves glanced back at her brother in bemusement before focusing her attention on the fresh-kill pile again.

Jayfeather was speaking to Half Moon, But in the midst of their conversation the tom gave a surprised look at Holly Leaves as she padded by, with Half Moon giggling in response.

Having not eaten yet that day, when her stomach growled for the sixth or so time, Holly Leaves resigned herself to going back into the cave and did so.

Fallen Leaves had yet to come back from hunting, though there was no doubt he’d be excited to see Holly Leaves outside. Meanwhile, Jayfeather and Half Moon were talking at the opposite end of the cave entrance, their voices hushed.

Holly Leaves had finally been allowed out of the cave when she asked Rising Moon that day, five days after Jayfeather came to the past, and so at mid-morning you could find her sitting on a boulder not far away from the entrance to the cave, staring up at the cloudy sky.

(Hmmm. Let's go to Day 6. Day 5 is when they finally did a successful hunt and chased off an eagle, though Chasing Clouds had been injured earlier that day and Jayfeather was scratched up a little by the eagle)
