Private with Bacon

"You know I can't do anything while so close to kitting" She mewed.

He flopped down beside her. "I'm bored."

She softly purred and rubbed her head against his.

He pouted, padding back to her.

"We don't need to kit proof for a while yet" She mewed.

He poked his head back into the den. "To get more Bramble's."

"Where are you going?" She asked softly.

He flicked her with his tail and trotted out.

Her ears flicked and she watched him.

He got yo his paws.

"Yup" She mewed.

"To kit-proof the den?" He asked.

She chuckled and nuzzled him, "We don't have to until the kits start walking" She stated.

"Oh. Right." He smiled sheepishly.

"Night gets out all the time" She mewed and licked her paws.

He blinked and looked around the den. "It's not kit proof already?"

"We'll have to make the den kit proof" She chuckled, nuzzling her mate.

He smiled wistfully. "Yeah..."

Night rubbed against her mother then she bounded around the den again, "I can just imagine her and the new kits running around when the kits are able to walk" Maple chuckled lightly.

Hornet sighed with relief, relaxing.

"I'm okay" Maple said and she softly nudged Night to her paws, "Careful hun" She mewed softly, Night let her ears droop and she nodded.

Hornet squeaked, nosing Maple worriedly.

Maple twitched and murmured as she slept, feeling the many kicks of the kits inside her belly. Night bounded around and she tripped, tumbling and crashing into her mother's stomach, Maple jolted up with a yelp.

Hornet lay beside his mate in their shared nest, watching Night run around the den.

Months later, Maple napped in the nest, her tail lashing and curling around her large belly. Night squeaked and ran around with a stick in her mouth.
