Hello Feline Friends

"Don't be silly, I barely did anything," Violetwing meowed, denying her- major- involvement in his training.

"What if I'm practicing for tonight?" He teased lightly, nosing her cheek. "I'm just thinking about how much of my success I owe to you, Violetwing."

Violetwing glanced back at Treewhisker. "Acorn for your thoughts?" She questioned curiously, flicking her tail.

Treewhisker followed quickly behind Violetwing, thinking back to the first time they'd run into the flredt together as apprentices, a purr rumbling within him as the memory progressed.

"Sounds good to me," Violetwing said, turning around and trotting towards the camp exit with her tail and head held high.

Treewhisker nodded. "Care to go hunting before sundown?" He suggested, wanting to get out of camp for a t least some time after preparing for his ceremony all day and before being confined to it all night.

Violetwing rolled her eyes. "He puts bees in everyone's brains."

Treewhisker growled protectively, but then sighed, rubbing muzzles with the she-cat. "I know. He still puts bees in my brain, though."

Violetwing nudged his shoulder with her muzzle. "Calm down, Treewhisker. I can take care of myself, and no one really likes Nightclaw except his mother so I'll be safe even if for some reason I can't fend off his advances. Your vigil is more important."

"Nightclaw." Treewhisker grumbled, flinching at the mention of the name. The tom was an overall pile of foxdung, but especially when it came to she-cats. He never left a single one alone, despite never managing to seduce a single one, and had only become more desperate since he and Violetwing moved into the warrior's den. "I tell you, that tom is the one and only possible reason I don't complete my vigil, because if he lays a single claw on you, I swear to starclan…"

Violetwing purred, eyes bright. "Me too. It was torture without you there to act as a buffer between me and," she gave a dramatic shudder, "Nightclaw."

Treewhiskwer bopped her on the nose with a forepaw. "Come on now, I know that!" He protested, though he purred happily. "I'm really happy I get to be in a den with you again."

Violetwing nodded. "That's usually how things are done," she said dryly, but amusedly.

Treewhisker purred, bumping his nose into her affectionately.  "I have a vigil tonight!"  He mewed, excited.  He'd realized on the rock that she had actually already done hers.

Violetwing cheered her friend's name happily, standing up when he raced down to meet her.

"…From this moment forth, you shall be known as Treewhisker. May Starclan provide you the strength to perform your new duties."

Treewhisker beamed with pride at his leader's touch, and felt his usual shyness bubble up when the clan began to cheer his name. There had been doubters the whole time, and there still were, but he had done it. He had become a full warrior. Grinning, he charged down the slope to the one cat in the world he actually wanted to speak to- Violetwing.

Violetwing shifted positions slightly, ears pricked to listen.

Treepaw purred as he realized that that night, he and Violetwing would be on vigil. A chance to sit with her, in silence, and simply enjoy her company, just the two of them awake. As his leader spoke, his mind swirled. He could hardly wait.

Violetwing watched Treepaw with bright eyes, waiting for the moment when he was finally proclaimed a warrior, at the age of fifteen moons.

Treepaw sat with his head high next to his leader, beaming down at his clanmates beneath, searching for one cat in particular in the crowd.
