The last of a species [Private]

Ghost winced as he tried to stand again, not realizing he was leaning into the canine to help him stand, "No humans... They caused this... All of them are cruel" He murmured, he seemed to be staying awake more, seemingly gaining some strength as he tried to walk, "I can... Do it" He murmured as he managed to start walking, going in the direction the dog told him.

It took some time to get the wolf to the shack, but once there he found a spot and collapsed onto it, wincing and letting out a small whine, the wolf beginning to lick at his injured leg, "Why are you helping?" He asked as he looked toward the dog, "Most dogs are prissy house pets that only think of themselves or their previous masters" He huffed out.

The smaller canine tried to think up things, anything to help the wolf before him. "Ah! There is a small abandoned shack that isn't used, it sits not too far from the farm. You can stay there while you get better." He suggested, feeling his tail wag in delight. "And not all humans are bad, the farmer's daughter is big into animals. I think she would be more than happy to help take care of you." Zach told the wolf, hoping he would accept the help from the human.

"Can you walk? I can help carry you if you can't." The aussie told the larger wolf. Moving to step beside him, gently nudging at his side. Trying to ease him up onto his feet, letting the wolf lean into him as he worked to get him back up. "It's not too far from here, just a little more and then you can rest. Just don't give up on yourself just yet." He tried to tell the wolf, hoping that would help give him some strength to push on.

The large wolf gave a defensive growl as he tried to get up again, but he just ended up slumping to the ground, letting out a long breath, he tried to get a good look at the other canine, he winced slightly as he felt the other trying to clean his wound, the wolf was quite disoriented and seemed to fade in and out of consciousness as he tried to focus on the dog.

His jaws slowly opened, his fangs stained red from blood as he finally spoke, "Farms... Have humans" He breathed out, "No... Humans" He coughed out, rolling onto his stomach, seemingly trusting the dog enough to not lash out in an attempt to protect himself, "Humans bad" He mumbled as he tried to sit himself up again, his ears dropped back.

Zach jumped in alarm as the large wolf awoke. Quickly shifting back to avoid the jaws of the panicked and hurt wolf. "Hey! Careful!" He yelped, shifting to try and ease closer. Noticing the wolf was injured, spotting the wounded eye and the missing left paw. His heart sank at the sight, though he knew there was nothing he could do. "I'm not here to hurt you. I was just exploring the forest and I found you here." He insisted, trying to ease the wolf out of his panicked state.

"You're hurt, do you want me to help you?" He asked, carefully stepping closer and leaning to clean at the wound on his eye. Making sure to remain light on his feet, just in case the wolf tried to bite him. "I can take you to my home, it's a farm not too far from here. You can stay there while you heal up." He said, hoping the wolf would agree to come. He didn’t want to leave him here, worried that whatever had attacked the poor creature would return.

Ghost, a large male wolf with an almost solid light grey body and a white head, breathed heavily as he ran as hard as he could, he had been a rarity for some time since wolves were dying out, many humans hunting them down for sport, Ghost had been running his whole life, he may have been young, but he was still large, he slid to a stop as he saw a form in front of him, he bared his fangs and snarled as a hunter was pointing a gun at him, yelping as he turned as he heard a loud bang, the bullet scraping along his right eye as he turned, the wolf darting into the trees and jumping over a river.

When the wolf finally collapsed from exhaustion and blood loss, he was miles from home, caked in dirt and mud, his right eye remained closed from the injury from earlier. The male had even gained an injury on his left paw, he had been caught in a bear trap and in a desperate attempt to free himself he chewed off his paw.

The wolf seemed to have came to when he felt a nudge, a low growl in an attempt to scare whatever touched him away, he opened his left eye and groggily looked about, trying to stand, he stumbled before keeping his left leg off the ground, baring his fangs before trying to take a step, yelping as he collapsed to the ground, his ears pinning back as he shifted his weight to try to stand.

Zach flicked an ear as he wandered around the forest. He had asked Dutch if he could watch the farm while he was gone. He had been wanting to explore the forest beside their home for quite some time. And, today, he finally found the courage to do so. He gazed about, making sure to be careful as he wandered the dense forest. Dutch told him thay there were nasty creatures lurking around. Talking about dogs that were much larger than they were!

The Australian Shepherd stopped walking as he noticed there was a body lying on the ground. He tilted his head and stepped forward, wondering what exactly was lying on the ground. Shifting around the body, managing to see just what was lying on the forest floor. It was a massive wolf, something he has never seen before. He jumped slightly in panic and scrambled back. Was the wolf asleep? Was it okay? He mustered up some more courage and inched forward, sniffing at the wolf. Finally using his snout to nudge him. "Are you alive?" He asked, knowing well his question sounded stupid. But he didn't know what else to ask.
