Of Course We’re Not Extinct (Spain)

One of her wings sprung up and she huffed out once the chain was removed, "You humans are strange, with things attached to your faces" She grumbled, continuing to struggle under the chains.

“Don’t be stupid. When would I have had time to inform them of your being here, and why in heaven’s name would I have helped them?” She snapped almost-rhetorically, finally managing to release one of the chains and going to work on the next one.

The dragoness lashed her tail and growled deeply, squirming in her restraints, "For all I know, you helped them" She muttered and kept her eyes on the female, her wings twitching and trying to stretch out.

Polaris hesitated when she was growled at, but chained up as she was, Mayvera couldn’t really do anything to her. Swallowing, she went towards the chains and tried to figure out how to undo them.

Mayvera growled lightly as the other female neared, she bared her fangs in a defensive manner, her tail thrashing and she tried to fight the chains and nets, almost roaring in pain as the chains scraped against where her scales had been carved out.

As soon as she was released, Polaris ran to Mayvera, tears in her eyes at the sight of the strong, proud, majestic creature reduced to such a state. For all that the dragon had intimidated and tried to steal from the girl, she hadn’t actually hurt her.

"The dragons are nearly gone, they have no rights anymore" One male snickered, another beginning to saw off one of the dragoness's large sharp horns, by the time they were done, most of her largest scales were gone and her largest horns were gone as well, the dragoness weak and bleeding heavily, but she would live, the dragon hunters left her chained to the ground as they began leaving.

Polaris looked a little ill at both the man’s words and his obvious enjoyment. “I’d say that’s animal cruelty, but she’s not an animal! It’s still cruelty though! You’re torturing a sentient being!” She exclaimed, struggling in the grasp of the man holding her.

Mayvera lashed her tail and snarled out in pain as she tried to fight the hunters off her, the one on her back continuing to carve out her large scales, "Don't worry, she'll heal, then we can catch her and use her scales to make more armor once we use the ones we're taking now" A large man snickered, showing his own armor and shield of many different dragon scales, "She is quite valuable, the society wont let her die without making her reveal the secret to the dragons" He laughed.

Polaris' eyes widened in alarm when the hunter started to literally carve the scales off of the dragon. "Stop that!" She yelped before she could stop herself. "Can't you see you're hurting her?" She darted forward but was held back by one of the much larger hunters.

The dragoness hissed and snarled as chains were thrown over her muzzle and heavy chain nets thrown on her wings, the dragoness faught as much as she could before she was yanked down, collapsing to the ground heavily, chains and nets covering her and holding her down, one of the men jumping onto her back and beginning to carve out the dragoness's scales, Mayvera thrashing and howling in agony.

The tiny human started at the sudden appearance of the dragon hunters, her wide eyes darting from the dragon to them and back again. She might be frightened of the large dragoness, but she felt a certain dislike for the dragon hunters rise up in her. Dragons were supposed to be majestic and free, not bound and captured.

"Give" The large dragoness snarled deeply, flexing her long sharp claws, "Or maybe I should return to the old ways, devouring helpless damsels and toasting the heros" She growled, pacing around aggressively, her tail lashing about, she spun around as she felt something pierce her thick hide, dragon hunters had caught up with her, though they didn't seem to want to kill her, the group of males trying to trap the large dragoness.

She hurriedly backed off in fright, green-gray eyes wide, but she still kept a tight hold on her bag of food. She swallowed, staring up at the dragon towering over her. I thought dragons were extinct! she cried inwardly.

"Well asking isn't my way" She snarled, unable to contain her growing rage, ber body contorting and shifting to her large dragon form, she rose onto her back legs and spread her wings out threateningly, snarling out as smoke rose from her nostrils and muzzle, trying to intimidate the other with her massive size, her bright scales shining.

Polaris (also known as ‘Ris’) backed away a few steps, eyeing the other female more warily now that she’d seen the claws and scales. Still, she was stubborn, probably too stubborn for her own good, and was unwilling to back down. “It’s mine,” she stressed, glaring. “I’d have shared if you’d just asked, but you tried to steal it!”

Mayvera watched the girl, frowning and baring her sharp fangs, rising to her full height and she glared toward the other female, "I did, now give" She growled loudly, reaching out to grab the bag, her clawed hands littered with scales.

Her eyes widened at the distinctly inhuman look of the other female’s eyes, but Polaris was no frightened little girl, and so she ran to protect her food from the thieving dragon. She glared at Mayvera, holding her bag of food to her chest protectively. “No, it’s not. Find your own food!”

A deep growl rose from the direction she was looking, glowing golden eyes staring back at her, "Mine" Mayvera growled, creeping down from the tree and giving the female a wide birth as she attempted to grab more of the female's food, her silvery white scale patches along her skin showing slightly on her back and shoulders as she had been wearing a tanktop.

Polaris would deny it later if ever asked, but she yelped, loudly, when the blue of motion farted past her, stealing the pair of hotdogs she’d just been about to eat. “Hey!” She exclaimed indignantly, getting to her feet and looking in the direction the blur had gone, green-gray eyes flashing with anger. “That was my food!” She said in frustration.

Mayvera crept through the trees, staying quiet, perking up as she spotted a female human, her slitted eyes glowing brightly before she sprang forth with her powerful legs, darting past the female, snatching some of the female's food before she clawed her way up a tree, hiding within the branches and starting to munch on the hot food.

Polaris Freewater had been out of school for two weeks now, having just finished her first year of college, and was now camping in the mountains of Colorado, the state she had been born in and still lived in. The petite, nineteen-year-old girl was an only child and had gone on the camping trip to escape from her parents’ overbearing ways. Thank God for being a legal adult and able to do that now. She sighed, brushing her brown hair behind an ear as she pulled the hotdogs she was cooking away from the fire.

Mayvera flexed her claws and growled loudly as she flapped her muscular wings, being driven from her den by the last few dragon hunters that still searched for dragons, the muscular dragoness was a bright silvery white with golden accents, her slitted eyes gazed over a small town, "Finally" She huffed, turning and landing within a grove of trees. She shifted her shape, stepping out into the light of a park, long silver hair falling behind her, most dragons sadly held some of their features in human forms, she unfortunately retained her golden slitted eyes, sharp fangs and even patches of scales under her dark clothes, she looked about before following the scent of food being cooked.
