Honeypelt Groaned But did as she was told, biting down and squealing around the stick in her mouth as she pushed again.

Willowheart placed the kit by its mother’s belly, waiting for the next one. “Again!”

Honeypelt gritted her teeth, which dug into the stick in her jaws as another involuntary spasm gripped her.

(Sure!)

Willowheart caught the first kit when it slid out, nipping at the sac to free it and then drawing her tongue across its fur the wrong way, drying it and warming it up.

Honeypelt gripped the stick tightly between her teeth and pushed at the sound of Willowheart’s command.

(I’m thinking three kits. How’s that sound?)

Willowheart kept her ears pricked as she focused on Honeypelt. It was several minutes later before the kits finally started to come in earnest. Narrowing her eyes slightly, the spotted she-cat mewled out urgently after a moment, "Push, now!"

Honeypelt nodded, using her own forepaw to shove the stick into her jaws, The she-cat panting heavily around it.

Willowheart set down the chervil and the borage leaves, giving the stick to Honeypelt. Settling herself next to the she-cat, she swallowed down her nerves and gently placed a paw on her side. "When I tell you to push, do it, okay?" She mewed.

Honeypelt writhed as another painful spasm coursed through her, The she-cat unable to hold back another yowl as Willowheart returned to her side.

Willowheart's eyes widened in alarm when she realized that Honeypelt was going into labor. Being that she didn't have an apprentice, the she-cat had to run back into the medicine cat den to grab the herbs herself before she could go back to the kitting queen.

Honeypelt had flopped over onto her side, breathing heavily before letting out another harsh yowl, her claws tearing at the earth beneath her paws. “Willowheart-!” The she-cat choked out, glancing down at her belly.

Willowheart jerked in surprise when she heard Honeypelt's yowl of pain, knocking over a pile of herbs, but she didn't care as she raced to see what was wrong. The young medicine cat left her den and hurried over to the queen.

Duststorm was hunting more enthusiastically than any other cat in the clan, eagerly working on getting his mate everything she’d need for their second litter. Most everyone else was out hunting or on a patrol as well.

Honeypelt was just headed back to the nursery from the dirtplace, moving slowly across the clearing with her heavy belly, when a sudden pain unlike anything she’d ever felt before gripped her lower body. The female collapsed and let out an earsplitting yowl of pain.

(Making them be born a half moon early :p)

Half a moon after the DimClan patrol had left, and Echowhisper along with them, the Clan had finally recovered from the battle with the rogues almost a moon and a half ago.

Most of my cats were out in the forest, either hunting or patrolling, but Willowheart was in the medicine cat den tending to her herbs and Mossflower was dozing in a patch of sunlight. The latter had just been told the day before by the former that she was indeed expecting kits again.

(Ok! Let’s only skip two weeks then.)

(Le gasp! Sure)

(I can’t think of much that would happen in that time personally. Or maybe they could come earlier than they should. Drama!)

(That's still at least a moon from now, but okay!)

(We could just skip forward. We could have Honeypelt’s kits come. :3 )

(I dunno what to do....)

Oakfoot stepped out of the den as well, pinning his ears back when Emberleaf was nowhere to be found in the clearing.

Bristling slightly, Willowheart hurried out of the den, glancing around the camp for her mother. Seeing the silvery-gray form of the leader, Emberleaf nowhere to be seen (having finished talking to her), she hurried over to her.

“I don’t know where or why. I think your brother did. He didn’t react when she left. And Emberleaf went to talk to Rainstar about it.” Oakfoot mewled quickly, pinning his ears flat. He hated having to be the bearer of bad news to his friend.

Willowheart almost tripped over her own paws as she whirled around to face the tan tabby, eyes wide with shock and horror. “What?” She gasped.

Oakfoot then stiffened, having just started to turn around when he remembered what else he was going to tell her about.

“...Echowhisper left with the Dimclan cats.” The tom Mewed quickly, turning back towards Willowheart.
