Cretatous Survival

When the leader continued to follow the female, Caius huffed in warning, though the leader paid no attention. He abruptly moved onto his back legs and slamming down, challenging the leader.

The female stayed grazing where she was, ignoring the fights as best she could, she looked over and saw the leader moving to her, she snorted and turned away, she had already accepted a male and he had fought for her all day, even if she didn't like fights, it just made her naturally want the male more.

Caius took part in serval fights, although only when his female had interest taken in her, he managed to pull away the victory of the fights. He huffed when he noticed the leader of the herd, moving toward them, his eyes looking directly at the small female.

The female grazed nearby, jolting as fights were breaking out over females, she snorted and turned away, trying to avoid the fighting, she found little point in it, then again, she was just a female so she didn't know.

Caius followed after the female closely, although giving her enough space so she wouldn't feel cramped. Serval hours later Caius was grazing absentmindedly in the field where the herd stayed during mating season. Caius had also been keeping a careful eye on the leader of the herd, who he planned to challenge for the right to mate with the female who had accepted him.

The female filled up on water before rising onto her back legs and trotting over after the herd, her tail swaying and she lowered down as she caught up to the herd, glancing back toward the male.

Caius followed the female, noticing the herd was making reasonable ground, probably because they wanted to get to the mating grounds quickly -- so they wouldn't run into any carnivores. "Come on" he urged, head butting her side, grunting dominatly at the small female as he rose up onto his hind legs and slammed back down, gaining the attention of serveral others.

The female grazed next to the male, moving away from him and back to the river, she lowered her head and dipped her snout into the water, taking a long drink.

He snorted out, chuckling in victory, he nudged her side then moved a little away, he grazed near her, keeping a careful eye on her. Given she'd accepted him, he wouldn't risk any other male trying to make an impression or any kind of carnivore or other herbivore from hurting the pettie female.

The female jumped and turned when she heard the male, letting out a snort and she rose up lightly, giving a frown as she lowered back down and snorted, she did seem more attracted to the male, she seemed to only notice him, proved as she rubbed herself along the male, accepting the male for when their mating season started and when her heat started. She rubbed her head under his and lowered her head to graze.

Caius huffed and trotted toward the female on two legs, when he got closer he slammed back down, trying to gain her attention away from the water. He nudged the side of her body with his head, grunting again. He trotted behind her and to the other side, herding her so she wouldn't be able to trot away like she usually did.

The female wandered out a while later, walking to a nice patch of greens to graze on, she rose up and huffed when a male came over and she just left the patch she was grazing off, she huffed while walking toward a small stream in their clearing, lowering her head and starting to drink.

Caius huffed his disappointment at her retreat, grunting at the other males and chasing them off. He managed to catch a few with his head, before turning back around, rejoining the herd grazing as he walked and keeping a careful eye on the female.

The female seemed content with the male there, not bothered by him, but when more males came over, she rose up onto her back legs and she ran forward, mingling within a group of females and hiding within them.

He smiled and followed her, nudging her side with his head. He watched her graze and grunted, he huffed when he noticed the males surrounding her again, he waved his head in a dominate display that had a few of them backing off and a few challenging him back.

The female did seem interested in the male once they were closer together, she let out a snort and brushed herself against him while she moved back to the herd after she felt his nudge, she rose up lightly before lowering back down and starting to graze, her tail swaying and she snorted as she munched on the grass below her.

Caius huffed and charged toward the males she circled the female once, lashing his head out to ward off the males. When they dispersed he nudged her with his head, huffing at her, he rose up again trying to impress her. He nudged her back toward the herd, he didn't agree with her being so far from the group.

Quilla flicked her tail slightly and she glanced back as she heard a male call to her, she huffed lightly and turned back to her grazing, lowering back onto her fores, she started moving with the rest of the females when males tried herding them around, Quill broke away from the other females, only to collide with one of the same males chasing her who was trying to court her, she snorted and tried to back off, only to be cornered by another male from the group of herding males who tried to get their own harem all the time.

Caius moved with the herd, he had, had his eye on a particular female. At the coming of mating season he might just get his chance. He turned his head over his shoulder watching her graze, calling out to her. He did this quite often, he enjoyed the challenge of trying to get the female who hadn't seem to take any interest in any of the males. Caius broke out of the herd and trotted toward the female, rising up on his back legs as he moved, showing off his massive size, that even on four legs, stood taller than the form of a trex.

Quilla moved with the huge herd, they were ending their migration for the season, their mating season just days away, and males were already trying to see who was the better, Quill rolled her eyes and grazed with a group of females near the trees, most female's were some variation of green, so they could be hidden within the foliage and keep their nests hidden, the small female quietly grazed on some ferns, before rising up onto her back legs and reaching for some leaves, using her tail to balance herself so she could stay up longer, also resting her front legs against the tree for more support.
