The Start of Us (Bacon)

"I ate on my way back" She said as she started cleaning up their little home.

"I know," he said, glancing at their newly stocked food storage. "Need anything?"

"Like we could survive that cold, Chrissa wouldn't survive a minute there" She sighed, looking to her daughter.

"If we could make it for a while longer.. maybe we could leave the city and head info the country. Or Antarctica" he joked.

"Anywhere the damn infected aren't, but we thought this olace was good for her" She sighed, leaning against the wall and rubbing her face.

He nodded, "If we could somehow move from this place, somewhere else, where would a good place to you be?" he asked, curious

Chrissa's cries slowly turned to sniffles as the song went on, when she fell back to sleep, Emily set her down and sighed, rubbing her temple, "Her sleeping patterns are getting worse and worse..." Emily muttered.

He hummed softly, joining in with his sister

Emily sighed as Chrissa started crying, she softly sang to calm her down and she rocked her gently.

He watched, yawning quietly. He had her stuff in the ready

She gave a soft sigh and she moved toward her daughter, gently lifting her up.

He looked over at her, nodding, then noticed her fidgeting, "Not very well"

"Is she still asleep?" She asked softly.

"I know" he lied, smiling

She pulled away and cupped his face, "It isn't your fault" She said sternly.

He shrugged. No matter how many times she told him that, he thought it was his fault.

"It was just a mistake" She said softly.

"I'm sorry.." he told his sister.

She flinched when she felt him hug her and she sighed softly, turning around and nuzzling her head to his neck.

Guilt rested in his stomach, and he hugged her.

"Honestly... I wouldn't want to name it Bruiser... There will never be another one like him, even if we had bred him no dog would be the same" Emily sighed softly, lowering her head, she was still affected by losing Bruiser and she sometimes had nightmares about his death.

He snorted, eyes widening at the amount of babyfood. "Holy hell.. wouldn't it have been cool if we found a puppy? Named is Bruiser, the sequel."

"Maybe they were, who knows" She shrugged and started putting everything away, "You have no idea how much baby food I found at that base, then from the child walmart thing, there's so much in that bag, I could get pregnant again and have enough to feed twins and her" She let out a laugh.

He scrambled to the bag, eyes lighting up. "Would have been nice if one of those douche bags were fricken immune." he said, digging in the bag and smiling at the stuffed dog, "Good, a silent toy."

"Maybe the pacifier in that bag can help" She said and gestured to the bag with everything for Chrissa in it.
