Zombie Cat Apocalypse (Bacon)

Maple trembled and dug her claws into the bottom of the tree. The turned yowled out and tried to lash out, one of its claws nicking Maple.

Ariana whipped around, leaping for the turned and faking her claws across its throat.

The kit followed Ariana, squeaking as a turned ran at her, "Mama!" The kit mewled and ran to a tree, but she didn't know how to climb yet.

Ariana cast a worried glance back at the den but gave Maple a quick nod and took off, hoping she could keep up.

"I wanted to help as we can get home faster" She mewed and bounded around Ariana, "Is papa okay? He fell when you left and wouldn't get up" She mewed quietly.

Ariana jumped and whipped around. "Maple! What are you doing here?!"

Maple followed Ariana without Ryder knowing, she caught up and mewed toward the she-cat.

Ariana ran out of the den, avoiding every tom that tried to stop her, and into the bright sunlight.

"Ariana!" He yowled as he flopped onto the ground, scaring Maple and Oliver.

Whipping around, she opened the door and shot out.

"I went on every search Ariana! The last time we went out was when I found you!" He snapped and stood, stumbling slightly, getting dizzy after standing too fast.

She stomped a paw against the ground. "Ugh! Ryder, they are not in plain sight nor where you would expect!"

"They went out every day searching the entire forest!" He snapped.

She fluffed out her fur. "But did they know where the herbs are?"

"We had medicine cats from different clan's here, they knew what to do" He sighed.

"But I know this forest!" She snapped. "I know what the herbs look like and where they are. Do any of you?"

"There aren't any good herbs around here! I've sent toms to look and they come back with nothing!" He said.

She flinched. "I know herbs, Ryder. If I can find the right ones, I can heal your cough."

His ears pinned back and he sighed, "We've never had treatments... I've just been saying that so you wouldn't worry... Whenever a tom has shown signs of infection we just throw them in the pit" He lowered his head.

"But I don't want to lose you!" She wailed. "I don't care if it takes a while, you need treatment!" She burst into tears.

"But he was a kit, kits go much faster than adults" He huffed.

"Ember died mere minutes after he started coughing!" She exclaimed, pain in her eyes.

"I said I'll be fine" He growled lightly, "Its just a cough" He frowned.

"Not without herbs," she said quietly. "Ryder, I lost Ember and the other four. I don't want to lose you too because you denied yourself treatment."

"I'll be fine" He said and calmed his coughing, his ears pinned back.
