Amber flicked her ears after scenting the air for a moment. “I think I smell a mouse, I’ll go for it.” The she-cat padded into the undergrowth. Once she was satisfied with being far enough from him, she rolled onto her back, spread her hindlegs, and began to rub at her swollen, needy pussy with her forepaw, letting out gentle mewls as her heat scent spread.

Rainstorm led them towards one of the small streams in the territory, one of the ones that was flowing too quickly to be frozen. Once they reached it, he scented the air.

Amber nodded, dropping in line quietly behind Rainstorm. She could tell the tom wasn’t super excite to be watching over her, but she figured she could change his attitude pretty quickly. She only knew about the tom from after his disappearance, and from this she knew he was the strong and silent type. This would be fun. The She-cat made sure Rainstorm wasn’t looking before rubbing herself on a tree as they passed it. She had entered heat, and intended on getting the tom with her between her legs to help.

Rainstorm didn’t look very enthusiastic to be watching over Amber, the tom having been quiet and surly since he came back to the camp a few days ago. “We’re going hunting,” he told her, flicking his tail as he padded towards the exit.

Riverstar’s purrs continued until the tom eventually drifted off to sleep, his face pressed deep into his mate’s lovely warm fur.

Amber shifted uncomfortably on her paws, thankful that the lessons in fighting were over now. Now she would be under Rainstorm’s watch. While she wasn’t sure wether they’d be out in the territories to hunt or just resting in camp, she had a problem she needed his help with.

“I love you, too, Riverstar,” Swiftstream purred softly before she, too, drifted off to sleep.

Riverstar sighed softly. “You’re right,” he finally mewed, shifting slightly so he could lie with his nose pressed into the back of her neck. “I love you, Swiftstream.” The tom still wanted to try and make amends with Spottedpelt, their former best friend, but decided to leave that topic for later, sleep washing over him like a massive black wave.

Swiftstream nodded. “That’s a much better idea,” she agreed. “You need to learn how to delegate, Riverstar. You can’t keep us from danger and take it all on yourself. We’te warriors; it’s what we’ve trained for.”

Riverstar frowned as well. “...maybe I could send some other cats first.” The tom sighed softly. “But if that story is true, I should go as well. If the distance isn’t too far perhaps we could occasionally have gatherings together.”

Her frown deepened. “Riverstar, you can’t just leave the Clan behind for who-knows-how-Long. It wouldn’t be fair to Shadowleaf, and you wouldn’t actually be leading the Clan. Besides, I doubt that Spottedpelt would want to go with us even if we did go.”

Riverstar shook his head. “You know it would drive me crazy knowing my clanmates are in danger while I’m comfortable at home.” The tom met Swiftstream’s eyes, purring and smiling suddenly. “Think about it. It could be me, you, and Spottedpelt together on an adventure, just like old times.”

Swiftstream frowned at him. “You don’t have to go yourself,” she reminded her mate. “In fact, it’s orobably better if you don’t. You need to let the Clan settle into your leadership.”

“Yes,” Riverflight Replied with a sigh, “But if what that loner’s saying is true, I don’t know how long I get to stay before running off in search of that clan.”

Swiftstream curled up in the nest beside her mate, letting out a yawn. “It’s good to be home,” she murmured.

Graycloud watched Glaciertail leave the camp, cleaning her paws and muzzle.

Riverstar sighed as he flopped into his nest in the warrior’s den. The Tom had yet to set himself up on the leader’s den and certainly didn’t feel like it now. He looked over his shoulder lazily to see if Swiftstream would join him.

Glaciertail noticed Graycloud and flicked his ears, padding off towards the entrance to camp to go on a walk.

Graycloud returned to the mouse that she had been eating when Swiftstream and Riverstar entered the camp, finishing it in a few bites.

Glaciertail nodded and dispersed, while Amber kept close to Spottedpelt as she was supposed to. The warrior began to instruct the former rogue on how to hunt properly as a clan cat.

Swiftstream nodded to Shadowleaf before following after her mate.

Shadowleaf sighed at the abrupt dismissal but realized he must be tired. She let the cheering go on for a little while longer before turning to her Clanmates. “All right, enough. Back to your duties, now.” The cats started to disperse.

Riverstar nodded, clearly concerned and intrigued all at once. “Another clan...” He mewed thoughtfully, knowing that no matter what was good for him or his clan, he’d have to find out of this was true, one way or another. For now, he needed to sleep, so he mewed a quick “Thank you,” before padding towards his nest.

As he did, Spottedpelt began to chant “Riverstar!” Soon, the whole clan was chanting his name.

Shadowleaf huffed at him briefly, a little annoyed about being left in charge for four days within a day of her becoming deputy despite knowing it couldn’t be helped. “Well, later the day after you left, when Graycloud and Glaciertail were hiding in a tree from a pair (three?) of foxes, a loner came up the same tree.” She then explained what Amber had said and her decision about what to do with the loner for the time being.

Riverstar met his deputy’s gaze with a happy look in his deep blue eyes. The Tom was tired, and relieved to finally see his home again. “How’s the prey running, Shadowleaf?” The tom purred, only half-teasing. The clan seemed intact based on how many of them were streaming out to see them, but he wanted to know what had happened in his absence.

The Clan promptly started gathering in the clearing at Spottedpelt’s cry, and Swiftstream blinked at how fast they gathered. Shadowleaf left the crowd to approach the two, looking relieved.

Spottedpelt was out in the clearing, blinking as she thought she saw something padding towards Camp. Her eyes brightened when she recognized Swiftstream and Riverflight- no, Riverstar.
“They’re back!” The she-cat yowled to the rest of the clan.

Swiftstream perked up when she spotted the camp, the two cats finally making their way home after leaving four days ago.

(Maybe two days, so Riverstar And Swiftstream can return to the clan?)
