A Late Jurassic Heart [Ash]

The male gave a confused look as the female tried to threaten him, he stared at her for a few minutes before he turned to face her, he had seen something behind her, he squinted before he began charging in their direction, a raptor like creature had been about to pounce on the youngster, the large male easily swinging his tail and he hit the raptor, sending it flying toward the trees, he snorted and glanced toward the female, "It would be safer for the young one to be closer to the herd, those things love picking them off" He said to the female, oblivious to the risk of being so close to her.

Mazikeen twisted her head to the male and snorted, she placed her body between him and her child, swinging her tail threateningly.

Nanuk watched the female and her youngling from the opposite side of the herd, he had passed by frequently but he didn't push his luck, the male eventually passed by again, though unconsciously walked to a bush to begin eating, taking a break from his guarding, the large male rarely slept, and when he did it was light, he snorted and shook himself out again, the male glanced toward the female and her hatchling, unsure of why she acted so strange, but he couldn't say much, he was strange to others too.

About: Maze belongs to the same herd as Nanuk but steers clear of all other stegosaurus. Maze is accompanied by her son Bruno, who is still quite young. The female stegosaurus is aggressive (overly so) and does not trust anyone within her herd. Despite her small size, she is infamous for her random attacks on random herd members (usually males) when they get too close to her, or her son (More in rp).

Mazikeen placed her body between the rest of the herd and her son, she was probably too far away from them as it was but due to her frequent outbursts, no one was brave enough to chase her back toward the herd. The leader, had attempted it a short time ago and had barely missed her tail. She chased him back toward the herd for several meters and was gaining speed on him when she grunted angrily and stode back to her hatchling who was still happily munching on plants.

About: Nanuk is one of the largest males in his herd, one would think that he would be the lead bull of the herd, but he had taken up the role of a protector, whenever a threat comes to the herd Nanuk is the one to deal with it. The large male is covered in scars from past fights with males over females and defending the herd. Nanuk is a bit slower compared to other males, he is more brawn than brain, Nanuk is a sensitive male though, many females seem to speak highly of his kindness, often using his large frame to shield youngsters from the burning sun, or even helping older stegos along the way. (More as character develops).

Nanuk snorted and shook himself out, his back plates clicking together from the force of his shaking, as he walked in a patrol manor around the small herd he is a part of, luckily there were more females than males, so there was never much fighting between the males, he looked up toward the dark night sky, sunup was hours away still, the herd was in the middle of making their way to the mating grounds, and the leader decided to have the herd rest in one of the most dangerous areas along the path. The male chased off some small predators easily, though they were no threat he wouldn't take the chance.
