The Last of Our Kind

The young but large male backed off at his mother's warning, giving a snort as he paced their lake, he didn't realize what he was doing as he sank back into the water, disappearing below as he searched for a fish, finding a large one, larger than the female had caught, and he chased it down, coming back up to his mother with the fish he caught, letting out a low rumbling sound as he nosed the fish toward her, backing off and lowering onto his fores, his tail lashing, despite being kin with the older spinosaur, the younger's instincts were beginning to take over, and the sexually mature male wasn't planning on letting go of a female in heat, but instincts were telling him to be careful, the female had to accept him, he slinked around his mother, brushing against her lightly off and on, standing between her and the sun, using his larger frame to shield her and offer the other shade where usually there wasn't any.

Lilth watched Bryth move into the water, but otherwise paid him little attention, eventually, the female moved back toward the fish, which now, was completely decimated. The small female snarled warningly at her son when he started to approach her, as the male grew and matured further, the female had become less and less tolerant of him. Lilth dropped down onto all-fours to nose at the carcass of the fish, eventually deciding to hunt again, the female rose back up and walked over to the water and drop down again, pressing her long snout into the water and waiting for a fish to swim by.

Bryth cleaned up his mother's mess fairly quickly before he retreated to the water, slinking into the depths and moving slowly through the liquid, he caught himself a fish, nearly eating it whole before he moved out of the water, the water dripping from his wet skin and he walked toward the shade, not even bothering to shake the water off, keeping cool in the shade this way, a scent caught his nose after a while, unsure of it he stood and tried to follow the smell, said smell leading him toward his mother, he sniffed around her before he began examining his mother closely.

Lilth watched her son with a growing unease, she no longer spent a great deal of time near or with her son, choosing instead to keep to her own devices, which wasn't difficult given the lack of other dinosaurs and the abundance of food in the area. Lilth snarled warningly at her son when he started to eat at the large amounts of fish she'd left behind, however, by now Lilth was over by the water fishing again, she decided that turning and chasing him away from her scraps wasn't worth it considering she wouldn't have finished the fish anyway. After ripping another fish apart, leaving just as much waste as the first, Lilth laid down on the bed of sand which surrounded the water. Her tail moving momentarily, unbeknownst to the female, she was beginning to go into heat, however, with all of the males in the territory including her mate dead, she reasoned that she would probably need to search outside of her territory for another potential mate.

Bryth yawned loudly as he raised his head off thw ground, looking about groggily, despite only just reaching sexual maturity, the young male spinosaur looked identical to his father, who was equally large in size, Bryth snorted and yawned again as he rose, the young male standing twice the size as he probably should be at his age, Bryth was a large red spinosaur with black tiger stripes along his back, light yellow orange accents along his face scales, the young male walked toward the female, walking slowly and he nibbled at her scraps, the young male looking toward the female, usually he wouldn't even be near the female, his mother, but she hadn't chased him off yet, so he stuck around, why run off when you aren't even being chased.

Lilith was currently lounging on the bank of a large riverbed, while the territory of which she resided was spacious by no means, it had a plentiful supply of fish and other hunting materials. The large spinosaurus was smaller than average, yet would still naturally dawf other carnivores in a similar chain. Lilith was light grey and plain in colour aided only by a darkened spine claws and tail to aviod being painfully obvious when hiding - not that she needed to hide often. Lilith ceased her lounging in favour of moving over several steps to the water, when she dipped her snout into the shallow water skilfully, closing her powerful jaws rather quickly around a large 2-metre passing fish. She gripped onto the fish and carried it away from the shallow water bed, setting it down only to press her claws into the animal, holding it in place, messily going about chewing and swallowing large chucks of the fish, although generally being quite wasteful.
