Fallen Holly Leaves (Storm)

Fallen Leaves pushed his nose into the fur behind his mate’s ear. “It will get better. For as long as I’ve known you, it always has.”

“It seems like every time I finally find some measure of peace and happiness, something comes along to mess it up,” Holly Leaves finally murmured.

Fallen Leaves stayed there as long as his mate needed, being a rock for the poor she-cat beside him.

Holly Leaves rested her head on his shoulder with a sigh.

“For our kits.” Fallen Leaves Mewed quietly, almost to himself, as if he was convincing himself of the one reason the inevitable battle would be worth fighting.

Holly Leaves nodded silently, remembering the stories she’d been told of Sharptooth.

“We have to kill it, or at least drive it off.” Fallen Leaves mewled a moment later, his gaze gardening as he stared at the ground before him.

Holly Leaves pressed against his side, twining her tail with his.

Fallen Leaves dipped his head, a slight, sad, understanding sigh emanating from the dappled tom.

Holly Leaves smiled sadly. "Me too. But now..."

“You know, before this news came up... I was thinking that I wanted kits.” Fallen Leaves admitted, his ears flattening a little nervously.

Holly Leaves blinked at her mate, tilting her head to the side questioningly.

Fallen Leaves purred loudly for a moment before pulling away from the affectionate touch of his mate. “Holly Leaves, I was thinking...”

“I love you too,” Holly Leaves purred softly.

“I love you...” murmured the tom softly, pressing the top of his head against her nose and rubbing against it affectionately.

Holly Leaves gently touched her nose to his ear, comfortingly.

“I hope so,” Replied Fallen Leaves simply, though he eagerly leaned into her touch.

Holly Leaves brushed against his side. “We’ll get through this,” she promised.

Fallen Leaves had padded towards the cave entrance, watching the waterfall silently.

Holly Leaves cast one more glance at the worried cats around her before following after her mate.

Fallen Leaves left the knot of cats, feeling a little sick at the prospect of an unknown enemy they couldn’t fight lurking around in their territory somewhere.

Half Moon sighed, closing her eyes briefly in pain. It was so difficult to try and lead and protect her cats when they didn’t even know she was their healer, and when she was barely five seasons old.

Broken Shadow frowned, but couldn’t think of a way to rebut any of what the younger she-cat had said.

Half Moon gave Broken Shadow a Look. “The way you spoke, it all happened too fast for any of you to notice anything. And just one attack doesn’t tell you anything about the fighting style of an enemy.”

“But we know how it fights.” Replied Broken Shadow, lifting her head to look to Half Moon.
