This Is Wrong But It Feels So Right (Stormwind)

Mallowstar murmured a worried apology every time he let out a hiss of pain, eventually reaching the bottom of the tree with the tom. Another warrior appeared seemingly out of nowhere to help Mallowstar tug the tom onto her back. He was unable to walk with his broken legs and it would be much quicker to carry him.

Blackstar was a little less afraid of seeming weak with Mallowstar, letting out a pained hiss every few branches.

Mallowstar carefully took Blackstar from the young tom and sent him off to the battle, helping her mate down the tree.

Blackstar stiffened And grunted out every time he and Ashwhisker descended a branch.  As grateful as he was for the other Tom’s Help, his legs were still broken.  Despite this, the leader was determined to not show weakness.  The black-furred leader pinned his ears back as Mallowstar reached them, waiting for her reaction to his terrible condition.

For now, Robinstar remained limp on the branch.

Ashwhisker scrambled back up the tree, reaching Blackstar after only a couple minutes. Dragging himself up onto the branch said leader was on, the gray-and-white tom took a moment to catch his breath before he headed over and started to help the other tom down the tree.

Mallowstar dug her hind claws into the branch once she reached it, gritting her teeth as she strained to pull Robinstar up onto the branch. Once she did, she only checked to make sure that she wouldn’t immediately die again as soon as she came back to life before leaving her behind, climbing the tree to reach her warrior and her mate.

Swiftfoot let go of Rabbitfire’s neck when she was piled on by half a dozen cats, though she didn’t do it cleanly. Oh, no, she ripped her fangs out of his neck. Using her small stature and the abundance of cats trying to attack her to her advantage (they kept getting in each other’s way), she slipped out of the pile.

No less than half a dozen Lakeclan and Meadowclan warriors leapt onto Swiftfoot from every direction, indignant at her taking a cheap shot, and before long the fighting had begun anew.

With Robinstar still dead, for now, and the other warriors having dropped into the clearing, it was only Blackstar, Mallowstar, And Ashwhisker remaining in the fall pine tree, with Blackstar still several tail lengths above his mate.

Mallowstar happened to catch sight of the horrified cats and followed their gaze, eyes widening when she took in the dangling Robinstar. I did that... Quickly, she started making her way up the tree again to pull the other she-cat onto a branch so she wouldn't start choking again as soon as she came back to life.

Swiftfoot took advantage of the lull in the battle to bowl over Rabbitfire, digging her fangs into his neck.

The battle had nearly completely frozen in the clearing beneath, with every cat looking on in horror as Robinstar’s body hung from the tree by her neck.

Mallowstar slowly pulled herself up onto the branch, breathing heavily and trembling slightly from the adrenaline running through her system in response to her fear.

Robinstar hadn’t even gotten close to the ground. In fact, the vine around her neck had broken her fall, and quite possibly her neck as well, the Forestclan leader dangling limply from the vine.

Blackstar tried to cut the vine loose, but simply couldn’t with his broken limbs and spent energy.

Mallowstar finally managed to grab a hold of a branch not that far above the ground, having fallen almost all the way to the ground.

Robinstar was free-falling alongside Mallowstar until she suddenly disappeared from the leader’s view all at once.

Blackstar watched with wide eyes, willing Mallowstar to catch every branch she fell past.

Ashwhisker finally managed to pull himself safely up onto his branch, sharply looking down in alarm when he heard the leaders’ branch snap.

Mallowstar yelped in fear and shock when she was suddenly free-falling through the air, trying to catch a hold of anything. She was just far enough away from the trunk that she couldn’t reach it and she couldn’t keep a hold on the branches, though she did manage to slow her descent some.

Robinstar snarled angrily as she was suddenly leashed from behind, lashing out angrily at Mallowstar and still trying to get to Ashwhisker as well. The combined weight of Mallowstar and Robinstar, combined with the latter’s thrashing, caused the branch to start to creak heavily underpaw.

Blackstar’s eyes widened as the branch began to visibly snap near the trunk.

Mallowstar jerked her gaze up to her mate before looking at her warrior and the enemy she-cat. Her green gaze hardened and she leaped off the branch, landing on a branch behind Robinstar and near the leash. Somehow, she attached it to the rival leader(that's what she's supposed to do, right?).

“Mallowstar!”

Blackstar’s yowl came from above, the tom desperately pointing to Ashwhisker and Robinstar despite the pain. There was something hanging just behind Robinstar, something that had been lowered there by Blackstar after he’d managed to free himself from the vine around his neck. It was another length, with another leash-like hole tied at the end.

Robinstar didn’t notice the new leash hanging behind her, The she-cat preparing to dig her claws into Ashwhisker’s until his grip failed him.

Ashwhisker's eyes were wide with panic and his hind legs scrabbling at the air as he tried to pull himself up onto the branch.

Robinstar latched onto a lower branch than Ashwkisker, licking her lips as if the tom was appetizing prey as he dangled vulnerably from the branch above her. She wriggled her hips and prepared to pounce, eager to knock Ashwhisker down and into the clearing below.

Steeling his nerves, Ashwhisker lunged forward, knocking Robinstar off of Mallowstar and the branch. Of course, he went tumbling over the edge, too, and just barely managed to grab a hold of the next branch down.

Mallowstar blinked in astonishment when the she-cat on top of her was suddenly no longer there, scrambling to her paws.

Robinstar didn’t expect the presence of another cat on their branch, fully focusing on clawing at Mallowstar. The she-cats were together towards the end of one of the branches, further from the trunk than where Ashwhisker landed.

Ashwhisker pinned his ears back, looking undecided for a few moments more before he went to help his leader, dropping from the branch they were on to the one a few below.

“I can’t go anywhere anyways,” Retorted The young leader, looking at the other ton with one eye swollen nearly shut from the beatings he’d gotten. “Just go help her!”

Ashwhisker frowned, worriedly glancing down at Mallowstar. "But she ordered us to make sure you were free first."

“Mallowstar’s in danger!” Retorted Blackstar with a growl, though he regretfully acknowledged that the tom was right. “Help her first,” commanded the Lakeclan leader, settling with his broken legs straddling the branch so that he could take the weight off of them. “I can stand to lay here a few moments longer.”

Ashwhisker jumped back a little in alarm when Blackstar tried to stand, the twitchy little thing that he was. "You can't walk like that!"
