Fallen Holly Leaves (Storm)

Fallen Leaves rubbed his muzzle against hers while she chewed. “How is Jay’s Wing doing?”

Holly Leaves sighed and reluctantly took a bite, only because the queens and kits were being fed right that moment.

“Share with me,” mewled Fallen Leaves. “I don’t want to take a whole one to myself. Besides, you’re still recovering.”

Holly Leaves rubbed against her mate before looking at the mouse. “I already ate today,” she reminded him even as her stomach growled.

Fallen Leaves rubbed his muzzle all over Holly Leaves’s licking at her muzzle and purring quietly after setting the mouse down between them.

Holly Leaves greeted her mate with a quiet purr.

The rest of that day passed uneventfully. Fallen Leaves eventually returns toy Holly Leaves’ side with a small mouse for them to share.

Holly Leaves nodded, giving her brother a quick, affectionate lick on his muzzle before slipping out of the Cave of Pointed Stones.

Jayfeather sighed softly. “I might need to take a while to recollect what I know about fighting the eagles. I’ll let you know when I’m ready to help.”

Holly Leaves sulked a little. She was sick of being cooped up!

“Maybe by the time they’re trained,” Mewed Jayfeather realistically, taking another glance at her wounds.

“I was going to teach them inside the cave,” Holly Leaves said, bewildered. “I meant I couldn’t leave to help hunt down eagles.”

“You could start right away, because you should train those cats inside the cave anyways.” Jayfeather explained. “At least until they know enough to defend themselves. Otherwise, that many cats in a group outside will just be a giant target.”

Holly Leaves stared at him, looking bewildered. “I’m afraid I don’t understand.”

Jayfeather nodded. “Why would you want to go out of the cave in the range of eagles when nobody knows how to fight eagles?” The tom pointed out, his blue eyes narrowing.

Holly Leaves frowned. “I’m not allowed out of the cave, remember?” She reminded. “I suppose I could show them some things but I’m at Rising Moon’s whim at the moment.”

“You could help,” suggested Jayfeather quickly. “You night even be a better teacher. I can only try to recreate what the Tribe taught the warriors I was with. I only overheard. I couldn’t see any of the moves.”

“You can pass it off as just an idea,” Holly Leaves suggested. “And they know I’ve been in mountains before so I can agree that it works.”

“We need to teach them how to fight them off, before someone gets killed.” Jayfeather mewled to his sister. “I can try and show them what I know, but if I do that they might get suspicious.”

Holly Leaves shook her head. “No. There’s been sightings but no attacks, yet.”

Jayfeather glanced around the cave a little bit more. “Have there been any more run-ins with eagles since yours?”

Holly Leaves ruffled her pelt, frowning. “Huh.”

Jayfeather nodded. “It’s like a normal dream or vision, but it all feels so much more real.”

Holly Leaves blinked in astonishment. “Really?”

“The last time I came here, after you left the lake, I went to sleep and woke up back in Thunderclan, the morning after I entered the past.” Jayfeather explained. “I can spend several days here and only one night passes back home.”
