Fallen Holly Leaves (Storm)

Holly Leaves tucked her underneath his chin, breathing deeply.

Fallen Leaves stared into his mate’s eyes for a moment, panting softly as he recovered his breath as well.

Breathing more heavily than normal, Holly Leaves blinked open her eyes.

Fallen Leaves was the one to break the kiss, but only after several more long moments of passionate tongue-wrestling with his mate.

Holly Leaves lazily tangled her tongue with her mate’s, enjoying the passionate kiss.

Fallen eagerly allowed her in, his own tongue slipping past Holly Leaves’ and into her mouth, exploring it curiously.

Holly Leaves purred softly into the kiss, eventually asking for entrance to his mouth with her tongue.

Fallen Leaves eagerly kissed his mate back, deepening their muzzlelock as the sun started to set over the picturesque scene before them.

Holly Leaves settled into the kiss, letting her eyes slip shut.

Fallen Leaves used a forepaw to lift Holly Leaves’ muzzle, kissing The she-cat.

The black she-cat silently look her head.

Fallen Leaves sighed quietly at her side, licking between her ears once. “Do you need anything?”

Eventually even that ceased and Holly Leaves was silent as she remained curled into her mate’s side.

Fallen Leaves let out quiet purrs as he leaned over and groomed the top of his mate’s head, hoping that now he could help her calm down.

After a while her sobs started to subside and eventually she was just hiccuping occasionally, her tears slowing.

Fallen Leaves gave her tail tight squeezes as she cried beside him. He felt bad that she was upset, but knew there was probably nothing he could say to make it all better instantly.

Holly Leaves shook with the force of her sobs as she cried.

Fallen Leaves remained silent beside her, happy to give his mate a shoulder to cry on.

Holly Leaves turned her head to bury her face in his fur, starting to weep.

Fallen Leaves rested his muzzle atop her head, unsure of how to respond to that.

“I just wished she hadn’t lied to us!” Holly Leaves closed her eyes, her expression twisting in pain as she remembered what discovering the truth had turned her into.

Fallen Leaves nodded. “She must have thought you’d have better lives with the group. As hard as it must have been, I’m sure she only made that choice out of love for you and your siblings.”

“She wasn’t supposed to have us,” Holly Leaves said quietly. “Our father was from a different group and she was forbidden from having a mate or kits. I think she feared we would be kicked out (and her, too), and if not, highly discriminated against. She’d just chosen our group over my father.”

Fallen Leaves mulled the question silently for a moment. “There must have been a reason. I was always taught growing up that the strongest bond in the world is between a mother and her kits. However much she loved you, there must have been something that she knew would do you harm if she didn’t give you up.”

“I just,” Holly Leaves started after a while, “I saw the way Shy Fawn looked at her kits and I thought, if my mother felt that way for me and my brothers when we were born, How could she have ever given us up?”
